Doel, the polder village in Belgium that turned into a ghost town, the whole village has been abandoned, and of course that has not happened just like that, because a lot of years of struggle preceded it. Since the 1960s, the inhabitants have been plagued by plans for port expansion and a new nuclear power plant.
