Is Dutch soccer revitalizing ?

The Dutch soccerteam missed the last two big tournaments, the European and World championship. Although Holland has a long and great reputation when it comes to soccer and soccer-players, the last years where terrible.

One of the absolute highlights of our soccer-history is for sure winning the European Championship in 1988. With (I think) one of the strongest teams ever. Marco van Basten, ruud Gullit, Hans van Breukelen (keeper), Ronald (present national coach) and Erwin Koeman.....  I can remember the party like if it was yesterday, the whole nation was celebrating this achievement...

Our last big achievement was the final of the worldchampionship of 2010 againt Spain. We lost that one... After that things were getting worse with the Dutch soccer with the all time low, missing even the qualy for the European and World championships.

With our new national coach (Ronald Koeman) Holland played two matches this week, one against Germany (in Soccoer always our worst enemy;) ) and yesterday agains Belgium from which we haven't won a single match in 20 years.

For the first time in years it was great to see Holland play again, the team is fresh, eager and most important a team.
A match against Germany is always a important one because things still hurts from losing the championship final in the early 70's... So we were thrilled that we won with 3 - 0 last week. And yesterday we played a equal game ( 1 -1) agains Belgium.

Hopes are rising for this time and I enjoyed watching this team every single minute. Football is a little like steemit. Commitment, ambition and teamwork :)
