This guy enjoys a good cuddle

<p>I don’t typically draw characters like this for one reason..<b>It’s hard!</b> The expressions are small and if it’s not drawn right then you could miss the mark.&nbsp;</p>

<p>You can see this adorable critter crawling around in most episodes of The Ancient Magus’ Bride. I’m not sure if it has a special power or if it’s charm is it’s cuteness. I’d love to have one of these guys to snuggle with. Hopefully I can find it in plush form!</p>

<p>I sketched out several shapes with the dry ink brush tool before ending up with this. I’ll be posting the lapse video in another future post. Mostly likely the next volume of collected hyperlapse videos.</p>

<p>I layered on several colors with the gouache paint brush and added some subtle highlights with the dry ink brush. I thought about stopping here but decided to do a really quick background.</p>

<p>I suck at doing backgrounds so I decided on something quick and easy. I could’ve add more details but I lost interest. I’ll either redraw this in the future or continue painting in more elements later on.</p>

I know how you feel about the big detailed images. I am always a fan of simplicity and its something I am trying to get more of into my work. The thing is your line work on this is very top notch in my opinion the subtle curves and body structure is what "makes" it to me. Just looking at it again and I love it.  One thing I learned too is sort of go where the momentum takes you so you don't burn out. Your work keeps getting cooler and cooler so its fun to watch.

Isn’t it?? I’m gonna start my google searches for plushies now. I’m making a conscious effort to do less..or maybe stopping early with my drawings so that I can finish them up later. I’ve been feeling a lot of pressure to do better. I’m never satisfied.

I have seven volumes of the manga and I think they did such a great job with the anime. There is so much that they do right with it. The characters are so rich and I also really love the music.

I absolutely adore the opening theme, and most of the music yes. I really want to hear remixes of it all into EDM lol. And yes, I think they basically do everything right? I don't even know if I can think of an anime done better. Maybe a couple, like samuri champloo or something are like at the same level, maybe, but none better. I wanna read the Manga too, to get my fix lol.
