Hello people of Steemit, 

my experience of travelling by train in Europe is very satisfactory and I can say that I have  accumulated enough miles to be able to judge the services they provide, today I would like to speak specifically about the train service in the United Kingdom, in this case the northern area. 

The short-distance trains do not have a pleasing look to the eye, the floors and handrails are rusty, the seats are fabric, which I find a little unhygienic because the fabric gets dirty more easily and its maintenance is more difficult.  However, since 2017 some railway lines have began an update of the upholstery of these trains. Tipically, half of the the seats are facing forward the other half rearward, there are also seats for four people with a table in the center, very comfortable when you go with the laptop or with your children, these are the seats that I prefer and sadly the most quoted. On the other hand, the trains that go to major cities like London, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh, etc. are in better condition, proof of this are the photos I made on one of my travels that I share below.

This year the British authorities have talked about investing more money in new infrastructures, to modernize and place high-speed roads, which currently only exists for the Eurotunnel that links London-Paris, which I have also used and I can say it is great.
