## Ich frage mich, ob Schal und Kopftuch identisch sind.
Schal klingt wie das niederländische Wort "sjaal".  Es ist aber was wir "das" nennen. Ein Kopftuch ist das, was wir als "Sjaal" bezeichnen würden.  Ich könnte sagen, es ist nur für Frauen, aber einige Männer tragen sie auch anstelle einer Krawatte und Frauen tragen auch Krawatten.

**Sowohl Schal als auch Kopftuch trägt man um den Hals.**
Das Kopftuch ist aber auch auf dem Kopf weltweit bekannt und wird nicht nur von Frauen so benutzt und der Schal ist für kalte Tage.  Er ist dicker und mit Sicherheit wärmer. Gut zu verwenden, wenn Du bei eisiger Kälte Fahrrad oder Motorrad fährst. Ein kalter Wind unter dem Helm macht keinen Spaß. Mit einem Kopftuch würdest Du dich bestimmt eine Erkältung holen.

Schals werden aus Seide oder Kunststoff hergestellt, Plastik also und nur in seltenen Fällen aus Baumwolle.
Ein Schal ist meistens aus Wolle oder Synthetik/fake wolle hergestellt, dicker und gut während des Winters. Ein Kopftuch wird niemals vor einer Erkältung, gefrorenen Ohren und Nase schützen wenn es -5°C oder kälter ist. 

>Ein Seidenschal um den Hals hilft gegen Halsschmerzen, zumindest hat mir das mein Vater gesagt. Wir haben keine Seidenshals verwenden also was wir haben. Schal oder Kopftuch sind dann beide in Ordnung.

**Meine Tochter hatte Spaß daran andauernd Schals oder eigentlich Kopftüchern.** 
Die meisten habe ich nie benutzt und verschenkt. Einer war gut als Tischtuch.
Ich brauche nur zwei Stück und benutze die im Winter sogar im Bett. Ich brauche nur ein rederven, damit ich mal wechseln kann beim auswaschen.

**Jetzt wo ich darüber nachdenke glaube ich,dass alle meine Kopftüchern das Modell eines Schals habe,was bedeutet, dass sie nicht quadratisch sind.**
Synthetisch sind sie auch nicht (kalt schon aber es ist besser als nichts). 

Ich mag keine synthetischen, rutschigen Dinger auf meinem Kopf (und um Hals). Meine Haare werden dadurch statisch. Ich bevorzuge eine Mütze, um Gehirn, Kopf und Ohren warm zu halten. Da ich einen Fettmangel in meinem Schädel habe, ist dies der einzige Weg, mich ein bisschen zu schützen.

## I wonder if a shawl is the same as a scarf. 
According to google translate it is according to me, it is not. 
Shawl sounds like the Dutch word "sjaal" but I think it is what we call a "das". A scarf is what we would call a "sjaal". I could say it is for women only but some men wear them too instead of a tie and women wear ties too.

The scarf is more popular worldwide on your head (by women only) and the shawl is for cold days. It is thicker and for sure warmer. Good to use if you are bicycling on in the freezing cold or drive a motorcycle. A cold wind blowing underneath your helmet is no fun. With a scarf, you would catch an ugly cold.

Scarfs are made from silk or synthetics which is plastic or on rare occasions still fabricated out of cotton. 
A shawl is made from wool or synthetic (fake wool), thicker and good for cold winters. A scarf will never prevent you from a cold, frozen ears and nose if it is -5°C or colder.

My daughter had a tic and gave me scarfs after scarf years ago. Most of them I never used and gave away. One as fine as a table cloth.
I only need two. One I use during the winter which includes in bed. I need one extra so I can change if I wash one. 

**Now I think about it, all my scarfs have the model of a shawl which means they are not square.**
I do not like synthetic, slippery things on my head making my hair static. I prefer a beanie to keep my brains, front head, and ears warm. Since I have a lack of fat in my skull it is the only way to protect myself a bit.
