Some people call Elon a great entrepreneur and visionary of the 21st century. I call Elon the great welfare king of the 21st century with the billions in taxpayer subsidies he's gotten over years. Has he built some cool stuff sure but at what expensive, what else could the government have used those billions on instead of funding these wild dreams? That sure puts Mr. Musk in a different light . I'm not sure the big 3 auto are any different though . There are literally thousands of unsold vehicles left over after each model year . Is it sustainable to produce something year after year like that ?

Ya he said if the big oil companies which are the biggest companies.. stopped getting tax breaks he wouldn't need government incentives for green projects. If you Google search tax breaks for big oil you will see that they save more money on their taxes than are given to oil companies. I feel you though, I dislike crony capatalism and it is a form of it. I just think that he is disrupting the oil barons and the space conglomerates and that it's a good thing though. Bailing out banks and housing industry is bad, solindra bad. But green projects that are disruptive aren't all that bad.

I know. It just passed GM and Ford and now Tesla is talking about issuing junk bonds. But what kind of innovations have the oil barons made? How to cover up oil spills haha? At least with tesla we have power walls, solar panels, solar shingles, and soon a cheap(er) electric car and also a solar big rig. The forced a lot of the car companies to do something so they can compete, making other companies attempt to be green. I mean I get what your saying, I said that. He hasnt turned a profit, and his company is just worth more and more. I think its because people can see the future though (kinda like with bitcoin). The eventual profit and benefit to the world. I encourage you to watch the Simpsons episode that he is in if you haven't already, it touches on this subject.. or to at least understand that before Tesla start driving 220 miles on an electric battery, they were talking about it taking until 2030 before it would be possible. Additionally, He hasnt turned a profit but he has constantly been moving forward with big new projects. How much do you think the gigafactory cost to build, a ton. Its built now though and its a product he is selling to other companies soon. Solar shingles are new, so if he just stuck with a product, or set of products.. he might already be turning profit. I do see what your saying, I'm hardcore libertarian. It's my biggest problem with Elon Musk, his coziness with the US regime. However, I also feel like he is trying to move the world forward in very positive ways, in lots of different directions even. I mostly agree with your posts, but here we have to agree to disagree a bit yo lol!!
