Mirror Image - Day 41 Selfie Freewrite Celebration
# Mirror Image

<p>

I dont know what to think of this mirror image...me, but not me. 

What does she really know of the woman dwelling within? Can she really be all of me? Her face so decisive, *so unsure.* 

Will she listen to the voice in her head, or turn away, afraid of the quiet resolution made?

Can she crack the exterior, expose the rich volume of music playing deep within, or will she run, as she's done *so many times?* 

I let her stare as long as she wishes, holding my breath, smiling, yet afraid to smile. Will she wait for the resolution, hear the urgency and act on the surprise?

An urgency possesses me to hold her gaze as long as she allows. 

She rests her cheek upon the cool glass.

I send waves of encouragement, and astonishment. *Does she know how close she's come?* 

On the cusp of emergence, like a crysalysis waiting with bent wings, emerging to new found freedom. 

Her wings pose for flight, not yet prepared to meet the air, a cool wind rising, moves her hair. 

*Rest a little longer.* Her voice is growing stronger. 

Soon she will grasp the skies, with silken wings she'll breach the night.

Well, I think that we have that kind of conversations with our image every time we look at ourselves in the mirror: something we claim, something we reflect on, something we rejoice, we congratulate ourselves, we sing and we do poetry ... definitely, the image in the Mirror is our great friend ... We must love her and take care of her!
