The sky darkens and the bed becomes a tomb. My body open up to dreams like moths to a burning candle, like butterflies to ovulating flowers. I hear the walls talk to each other and shadows moved across the window sill. The curtains flutter, seeking escape with the wind and each moon that peers in, weeps. The finger of a fog creeps to my knees and kiss my hips. Sex is on my mind as i file the thought, beneath the sheets but each cricket chirp jostles my thoughts and i scramble back into my body and find nightmares waiting. I let my skin feel the sheets, warm after i had rolled the flakes of dandruffs off my itchy scalp. I don't want to die alone, afraid and silent in this night. If i am to lie with death, then I want to jump off a bridge with a crowd in sight, a paddle in case i don't drown right, a rope in case i can't swim against the tide. I dream of home and flowers - hibiscus and roses, water lilies and forget-me-nots Do you remember those leaves that fold when you touch them? Or those that close at night like eyelids and wake up with the sun? I have forgotten how to say the words and now i don't seem to know what to say. A song filters inside me and i shrug off the sleep like my wrapper stinking of old semen stains and old unclean tears. I am not sure of tomorrow but i can't sleep and tomorrow has met me here, awake, my thoughts roaming through the night, seeking for peace, seeking for rest.
