<h1>India trip #2 - Jaipur | Podróż po Indiach #2 – Jaipur</h1><br/>

<p>Week ago I described what I enjoyed in Mumbai. After two days in that city we moved further north, to the placed over 1000 km city of Jaipur. It’s a capitol of Rajasthan state and one of the cities of popular <b>Golden Triangle</b> (other two are Agra and Delhi). To save some time we took morning, 5.40 IndieGo flight and landed in Jaipur at 7.20 am. Without further stalling welcome to the second part on my India trip - <b>Jaipur</b> .</p><br><br><br><br><br>

<p>Tydzień temu opisywałem co mi się podobało z Mumbaju. Po dwóch dniach w tym mieście wyruszliśmy dalej na północ, do odległego o ponad 1000 km miasta Jaipur. Jest to stolica stanu Rajasthan oraz miasto uznawane za trzeci wierzchołek popularnego <b>Złotego Trójkąta</b> (dwa pozostałe to Agra i Delhi). Żeby zaoszczędzić czas wylecieliśmy z Mumbaju o 5.40 rano  samolotem linii IndieGo, lądując w Jaipur o 7.20. Przed nami  był cały dzień zwiedzania, bo następnego dnia o świcie jechaliśmy dalej, do Agry. Bez zbędnych opisów zapraszam do drugiej części moich przemyśleń z Indii - <b>Jaipur</b>.</p>

<h2>The city | Miasto</h2>

There is a world of a difference between Jaipur and Mumbai. I will start from the climate – on north  the weather is more desertish – high temperature (about 40 Celcius degrees) and low humidity while in Mumbai the temperature was little bit lower, but hight humidity made you feel sweaty all the time. To be honest Jaipur climat was better for me. Due to the color of limestone plaster, this state capital is often called <b>Pink City</b>. Whats interesting is that every 10 years buildings are repainted to preserve its pink color :). Along the streets trading was blooming – you could buy everything from food, through souvenirs to some pieces of clothing.

Jaipur różni się diametralnie Mumbaju. Zacznę od klimatu – na północy panuje bardziej pustynna pogoda – wysokie temperatury (około 40 stopni) i niska wilgotność podczas gdy w Mambaju temperatura była trochę niższa (ok 33 stopnie), ale wysoka wilgotność potęgowała uczucie ‘lepkości’. Szczerze mówiąc bardziej odpowiadał mi klimat Jaipuru. Z powodu barwy wapiennych tynków, ta stolica stanu jest często nazywana <b>różowych miastem</b>. Co ciekawe – co 10 lat miasto jest odmalowywane :). Wzdłuż ulic toczyło się życie, kwitł uliczny handel gdzie mogłeś kupić wszystko od jedzenia przez pamiątki po części garderoby.

<h2>Architecture | Architektura</h2>

Not only weather is different in Jaipur. We have visited few of local perls, among others -  city palace complex. The biggest attraction of the complex is a four-storey facade with 593 windows dotted with ornamented stone grates. It supposed to give palace woman ability to observe the city, not beeing seen by others at the same time.

Nie tylko pogoda jest inna w Jaipur. Zwiedzieliśmy tam kikla perełek m.in miejski kompleks pałacowy. Największą atrakcją kompleksu jest czteropiętrowa fasada z 593 oknami zasłniętymi zdobionymi kratkami z kamienia. Miało to umożliwić obserwacje miasta kobietom z pałacu, tak aby same nie zostały przy tym zauważone.

Not far from the city palace you can find <b>Jantar Mantar</b> - observatory, built in 18th century. All 18 instruments over there were created to determining time, finding azimuth, determining the date of solar eclipse etc. Located there the words biggest sundial has height of 22 meters and determines the time to the nearest 2 seconds!

W niedalekim sąsiedztwie znajduje się zbudowane w XVIII w. obserwatorium astronomiczne <b>Jantar Mantar</b>. Moża w nim zobaczyć 18 instrumentów astronomicznych, służących do wyznaczania czasu, ustalania azymutu czy określania dat zaćmienia słońca, Największy na świecie zegar słoneczny, który jest elementem tego obserwatorium, ma wysokość 22 metrów I mierzy czas z dokładnością do 2s!

<h2>Traffic | Ruch uliczny</h2>

Whats happening on indian roads is something awesome :D. First thing you notice after landing in India is sound of horn. Each and every driver use it to everything. You overtake someone? Ok, horn so he knows about it. Taking turn? Sure, horn – so everyone knows what you are doing. Passing pedestrians? Guess what? Horn and pedestrian won’t do any weird move. At first it surprised me, but quickly came to the conclusion that it makes sense! Seriously!
Respect of traffic regulations is other subject. As you see a two-lane road it does not mean that there will be 2 cars going there. This means that there will be a car and 2 tuk-tuks, or just 3 - 4 tuk-tuks, depending on the drivers ;). Nor is it surprising when someone rides 100 meters upstream to make a shortcut. Another example – traffic lights. Do you think that you wait on red? Wrong, on the red light you slow down, hit the horn several times and drive through! For me as a European it was super surprising but I got used to it quickly - when later I rent a motorcycle, horn was in use all the time :D. Taking into consideration what I wrote here I am also surprised by the fact that I have not seen one accident in India!

To co się dzieje na drogach w indiach to jest coś niesamowitego :D. Pierwsze co można zauważyć po przylocie do tego kraju to to, że każdy używa klaksonu – do wszystiego. Wyprzedzasz? Ok to klakson, żeby wyprzedzany wiedział I się dostosował. Wchodisz w zakręt? Klakson, żeby ktoś z naprzeciwka wiedział, że jedziesz. Mijasz pieszych? Nie zgadniesz – klakson, żeby pieszy wiedział, że ktoś go wyprzedza. Na początku mnie to dziwiło, ale szybko doszedłem do wniosku, że ma to sens! Serio! 
Oprócz klaksonów inną typową rzeczą jest dostosowanie przepisów. Jak widzisz dwupasmową drogę to nie znaczy, że będą tam jechały 2 samochody. Znaczy to tyle, że zmieści się tam samochód I 2 tuk tuki albo 3 – 4 tuk tuki, w zależności od kierowców ;). Nie jest też zaskakujące jak ktoś pojedzie 100 metrów pod prąd, żeby nie nadrabiać drogi. Kolejny przyklad – światła. Myślicie, że na czerwonym się staje? Błąd, na czerwonym się zwalnia, kilka razy trąbi I jedzie dalej! :) Dla mnie jako europejczyka to było mega zaskakujące ale I do tego się szybko przyzwyczaiłem – kiedy później wyporzyczyłem motocykl klakson był w użyciu cały czas :D. Biorąc pod uwagę to co tu właśnie napisałem zaskakuję również fakt, że nie widziałem ani jednego wypadku w Indiach!

<h2>Views | Widoki</h2>

Apart from architecture, the views made quite an impression on me. Not only the individual buildings but also the panorama of the city. It looked like a concrete desert. In the afternoon we drove to the Nahargarh Fort  and from there we watched the sunset over Jaipur.

Oprócz architektury spore wrażenie zrobiły na mnie widoki. Nie tylko poszczególnych budynków, ale również panoramia miasta. Wyglądała trochę jak betonowa pustynia. Po południu pojechaliśmy do fortu Nahargarh górującego nad miastem I stamtąd obserwowaliśmy zachód słońca nad Jaipur.

At this point we finished our city tour. For one day it was quite intesive and I deserved a cold beer in the evening :). The next day at 6am we had a train to Agra, but that will be in the next part ;).

Na tym zakończyliśmy nasze zwiedzanie miasta. Jak na jeden dzień było całkiem intesywnie I zasłużyliśmy na zimne piwko wieczorem :). Następnego dnia o 6 rano mieliśmy pociąg do Agry, ale o tym będzie już w następnej części ;).
