I could feel your sadness when you put your daughter on the train. It is so hard to let go of our kids and have an empty nest, isn't it. But like you said, if they are happy then we are happy. This was no special event. It is just a perfect time for my daughter and son to take off from work and it is less expensive for my daughter and granddaughter to fly this time of year. Summer vacations and Christmas are their long vacations and everyone is busy doing their own thing with their own families. I am happy to hear that you and your family get together for Christmas. I would love that.

I understand what you mean about long vacations. Every family need time for their own. Maybe it would be the same with me, but I do that for my daughter. For her Christmas is the time when a whole big family get together. It came from her childhood, when we lived with my husband's parenth. They used to get together very often, and it was soo touching and nice. On a big holidays our flat fit 5 families 🙂😊 And we both miss that holidays and sublime atmosphere. Thats why I come over every year, and I do everything I'd do for myself - coocking, decorating... 🎄 Okay, sorry for many words, and have a wonderful day!
