#### 미2사단과 24사단의 임무교대 
#
미2사단 38연대는 페플로 대령(George B. People) 지휘하에 8월 19일 마지막으로부산에 상륙

8월 20일 38연대가 밀양에 도착하자, 미8군은 제2사단은 미24사단과 교체하라는 명령을 하달

미2사단은 8월 24일 24사단과 교대를 완료하고 그날 18시 사단장 카이저(Keiser) 장군은 책임지역을 인수

미24사단의 병력은 10600명으로 8000명이 부족
제19연대와 11야전포병대대는 미2사단에 배속되어 사단예비가 됨

미21연대는 군예비

기타 사다부대는 경산부근에 배치

<34연대의 해체?>
8월 26일 워커장군은 처지장군과 논의후 미34연대가 보유한 병력과 장비를 미19및 21연대에 이양할 것을 지시

미34연대를 지원하던 미63야포대대는 미제11, 13, 52 야전포병대대의 C포대로 병력과 장비를 이양

포병은 8월 26일부, 보병은 8월 31일부

미34연대 1대대는 미제19연대 3대대로 편성, 3대대는 미21연대 2대대로 편성완료

7월 3일 한국에 진주한 2000여명의 34연대는 8월말 184명에 불과
(대부분 전사, 부상, 실종)

연대장 보챔프 대령은 7사단 32연대장으로 전임

<5연대 전투단>

5연대전투단은 미24사단의 3번째 연대로 변경
당시 병력은 3,500명

약 650명의 제6 중(中) 전차대대도 미24사단에 배속

4000여명의 보충병이 추가로 필요
