Instagram celebrates its 10th anniversary: What did you learn from this social network?

*This publication was also written in* **SPANISH** *and* **PORTUGUESE**.

If you live on planet earth, it is impossible that you do not know this social platform. It is a network of photo and video sharing where it is possible to apply a large number of filters to make images more dynamic and, at times, more fun (depending on the concept of "fun" in the view of each user). But, what would you say you learned from this social network (even if you are not a user using it)?

https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/wiseagent/enPSLvFd-instagram.png

[Newsflurry](https://newsflurry.com/how-to-change-instagram-icon-on-android-iphone/)

The **Instagram** network is connected to other social networks such as **Facebook**, **Twitter**, **Tumblr** and **Flickr**, so... All the user needs to do so that their posts gain more visibility, is to have an account on this other social networks and automatically publish your content. Initially, the idea was just to make a simple photo album, but over the years... Things have been radically changing much faster than it was possible to imagine.

Since its launch, the adhesion of new users to Instagram has been very massive and today, the sky is the limit. But in the midst of so much success, some problems came. One of the ones that is considered the most expressive (in a negative way, obviously) by psychologists, psychiatrists and other professionals who study the mind, is the false reality of what can and is seen as a sensational and perfect life by millions of users. Depression is one of the most common problems that usually arise and this shows the power of influence that this social network has on its users.

Many of them post photos not for the pleasure of posting, but to try to impress other people and try to show how perfect their lives are. Creativity dictates and sets the rules, but something very common that happens in this social network is the obligation to show that you are perfect. It is clear that this social network was not created for this, the problem is that it was transformed into this by the users themselves and today, this can be seen as a path of no return.

What started out as a simple way to have fun, today is seen as having a very negative potential for people who have problems like low self-esteem (just to mention an example) because Instagram is seen as the "land of perfection" and this tends to influence many people, who are naturally easily influenced. The search for perfection is one of the constant processes on Instagram ... But it is a failed journey, simply because what is said to be perfection does not exist.

The discussion on this subject could go much further (because the subject has a number of very extensive ramifications), but I think that with everything I wrote and contextualized above, my point of view on the subject is clear. I am not against Instagram, but I think it is necessary to adopt some more energetic measures to contain the spread of an increasingly wrong concept about this social network.

I think it is because nowadays people give a lot of culyo to the appearance, and not to the essence that it really is what This says a lot about how degenerate she is society today and what it is more important to live from a false image than projects a false idea , to be clear about what it really is It is a good example of how you can distort and use of a good platform

The illusion so many people now have in mind about social networks is really pathetic and it is not the fault of the companies involved I bet there is almost nothing they can do to control it

Good article, this old social network and the truth is that networks have a lot of potential but people use them for a kind of cult of personality.

Hi friend, the truth is that I like this social network a lot, I'm not one to publish photographs, the truth is that I have done little, but I like to see quality content and like everything a bit of showbiz, but I agree that many people only publish what they want their life to be, there is only vanity and falsehood in that world. Of course, there are those who work with the networks but it is not the majority.
