I think i like this new strategy. I agree with @mentalhealthguru when he says its like lottery. But at least someone cares enough to lift the minnows. I think today's   authors have been the best so far, quality contents.

It would add more value if you can resonate why you choose them, so that other whales can also support. Curating great content is the ultimate solution to bring value in the Steem blockchain, so I am sure, you can inspire other whales by doing so and providing them your feedback.  I used to do a Caption contest of Original arts, which ran for six months, then I had to give up because we could not gather enough rewards to give it back to the community.
