# Thought Identity

This subject will not be covered in full on this article. I have been mulling over exactly how to present this concept for a while now. I have come to the conclusion that I am only going to be able to cover this topic in conjunction with the previous posts in the last week and the upcoming posts in the future week or so.

Once more concepts have been covered, then I will be able to cover more about this particular topic.

## Definition

So what do I mean when I speak of Thought Identity?

We as Humans are part of a staggering quantity of categories. Society and groups like to put us into “boxes”. What is laughable about this convention of belonging is that we will, inevitably belong to multiple boxes.

It is impossible with any quantity of people in a group to share every single categorization. Between two friends there are usually differences. Rarely, they are both the same. Add the third and fourth friend. Add twenty people in a sports club. They are all there because you identify with the mutual interest in a single sporting activity.

Hypothetically, the sport is Football. Some of the club members will be avid watchers of Boxing... others will not. Some of the club members may be of different cultures, races, religions, marital status or seniority. There are many more identifiers that we could place on these individuals. I am not going to list them all. So if your favorite is missing here, just assume that it could be one of many more things I could have listed. You know what I mean.

As we are born, raised and matured into functional adults, we are taught and trained by our family first. It is usually an expectation from parents that your identifiers be as similar to that of the family as possible.

This is not always possible because like the aforementioned factors, this is statistically improbable. So we have to consider that in essence, you can partially be included into a group that you identify with, but that it can never exclusively represent your entire being as soon as one or more other people are added to the group.

Thus, I can only conclude that there is a personal Thought Identity that is unique from person to person.

## Modifiers

A Thought Identity is not a static thing. We are not born with it, yet it is created at birth. It is constantly updated every day of our lives and is built on a collection of learning, opinions, past experiences and fears.

The process of living will modify your thoughts. Of course, some individuals can be stubborn or indoctrinated and it can take a lot for them to be shaken from a certain idea or belief. In that case, it may be possible that experiences and memories do not change the way they think. This also becomes part of the list of traits that make up a person's Thought Identity.

Thought Identity is where your non-deteriorating values lie. They become an integral part of who you are and what you think about life and the world.
