When I was a kid, everytime I heard the ring of the sorbet's bell, I immediately ran to my mom and asked for money and buy ice cream. The ringing bell sounds like music to me, so I did not miss the opportunity 
to buy ice cream.

Until now it is still very popular among the children, yes they still loved it. Even I'm old enough now, I still bought Ice cream. Aside from being cheap, it tastes really good.

It will cost 5 to 10 pesos only per apa or cup. There were some sorbet vendor who placed the ice cream using apa or by cup like this one I bought, as you can see in the picture above.

It also has a different flavors. It has chocolate, ube, mango, etc. Mocha and buko, were the flavors I bought. It's worth it!

Others put it on a buns and looks really enjoyed as they eat it.

But many have asked, even me I also wonder, why is it called a "dirty ice cream"? Is it really dirty? 

Here are the reasons: 

1. It's called dirty ice cream because it was a mom's warning to a kid wanting to eat an ice cream that's being sold on the street.

2. The vendors usually don't wear gloves. Though, the buns and wafer cones were wrapped with napkins, the name stuck and retained its name, dirty ice cream.

3. Our moms used to tell us that the tip of the wafer cone is being used by the vendors to get their nose cakes. Yayks! I know it's gross but that's not true hahaha! 😂

After all, the name of it doesn't really matter to me. Aside from it's delicious taste, I do respect the sorbet vendor roving the street. Even the heat outside is scorching, they still worked hard just to feed our 
longings and earned money as well to support their family needs.

Like this vendor in our place, even though he's sweating a lot and looks very tired,
he still wear a smile in his face. He might earned just enough for his family, but what he may never notice that he also gain our trust for setting an outstanding example for being responsible.
