Cormorant - some interesting photos and facts

### I want to share with you my pictures from water trip along the Danube River. I was lucky to shot cormorant's flight.

This is a very interesting bird. The cormorant is very clumsy, but it swims and dives superbly. He can dive to a depth of 4 (and somewhere they write that up to 10) meters and hold under water up to 40 seconds. Cormorants arrange whole chases, helping themselves with wings under the water while hunting. Takeoff of a cormorant sometimes takes up to 100 meters, while working at this time with wings and legs.

Cormorants rest in small flocks. They sit down on the ground, on fallen trees, rocks and dry their wings. Their feathers have no fat, but the wetting of the wings helps him to maneuver better under water.

And they say that Pentax can't do action, while you use an old K5 (like I do...) Nice series, especially like the 3rd one. Never saw a cormorant fly (they really are bad at that, I guess.)

Oh, they said so? I didn't know. You're right, K-5 is rather old, but in fact, the lens I used for these shots is HD Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED WR. As for me it is slow indeed ))  But even so it is possible to shoot action 
And 3rd is my favorite as well, thank you!! ))
