### What is capitalism? I doubt many people know the answer to that question, and even less people know what communism or socialism is.<br>

If I got a dollar every time I hear someone talk about "socialist Sweden" or "socialist Bernie Sanders" or even "those socialist Democrats," and use that as an example of the opposite of capitalism, I'd probably be a rich man by now...Let me share with you a joke from "communist" Hungary;
*Q: "What is capitalism?"*
*A: "Capitalism is the exploitation of man by man."*
*Q: "And what is communism?"*
*A: "It's opposite."*
The exploitation of man by man. Let that sink in for a moment, and I hope you then realize this has been the truth about the human condition for the last 10,000 years, since we've given up on being hunter-gatherers, since we've traded in the tribe for the city, the nation and it's flag, since we've been able to produce more than we need with the advent of agriculture and the domestication of farm animals. While the so called socialist and communist governments speak the language of equality and social justice, in practice they are no better than the plutocracy that is the end-result of all capitalist experiments we've ever had.
If you think that the fiat-scheme of central banks is a new invention, think again; even the Greeks and Romans knew that they could dilute the gold used for their coins with cheap metals, without the general population losing TRUST in the actual worth of the coins. "Credit" is derived from the Latin verb "credere" which means "to believe" or "to trust." The credit crisis was a trust crisis and money has no value, other than the trust we have that the worthless piece of paper that can buy us stuff today, will also be able to buy us stuff tomorrow. It doesn't matter which system or which method; it's always been the exploitation of man by man.
In the video linked at the end of this post we not only hear the old Hungarian joke about capitalism and communism, but the account of a brilliant man, Dr Gabor Maté, who came to America only to learn that "everything the Soviets have said about America was true, and everything they told about themselves was a total pack of lies." Here's someone who knows what capitalism is: it's the same as every other system we humans have managed to create, other than the simple tribal life of hunting and gathering nomads. "Freedom" can be summarized as follows: freedom is the ABSENCE of exploitation of man by man. We were free as hunter gatherers... Just some thoughts I had after listening to Dr Gabor Maté: he has some really insightful things to say about how capitalism is making us sick, literally, after having fled from his communist home.
