### Party politics in a commerce-ridden society means promising one thing and then doing another thing. The people kind of know this already, so you promise big, you promise a lot, so they can temporarily imagine the possibility for change, in the hope that this time it'll be different.<br>

But no matter which side you choose, the elected politicians know what to take care of first; the business and the military. Obama promised change because, "yes we can", he even received a Nobel Peace Prize, while waging wars in seven different countries. His healthcare plans were a pale shadow of what he first imagined them to be and under his rule the rich and the military industrial complex have profited like never before. He's charismatic, I'll give him that, but he's just another in a long line of presidents who take care of wall street first and the people later.

Trump can't be accused of having any charisma whatsoever; he wouldn't know grace if it bit him in the ass. But that's part of what's so appealing about him, especially for his supporters. His language is stripped from the usual pompousness felt in any politicians discourse, and he speaks the language of regular folk. In this language he made a few bold statements, like "draining the swamp" that is Washington from the wall street hugging filth that's dwelled there for decades. He would make America Great Again, by fending off illegal Mexicans and ill-intentioned Muslims. Borders would be closed as to reserve America for the Americans again.

His boldness knew no bounds when he promised to build a wall across America's southern border; it's about time someone took the threat those illegal aliens from Mexico serious. He took it so serious that he not only promised the wall, but the Mexicans would pay for it. It now turns out that the wall costs 5.6 billion dollars, so it's a good thing the American taxpayers won't have to finance it... Or is it..?

Nah of course not. Did you really think this president would be any different? After calling the request of 716 billion dollar for next year's defense budget "crazy" in one of his many tweets, he offered 700 million. But after a meeting with the republican led houses it was settled on 750 billion dollar. After promising to make the Mexicans pay for his wall, he now closes the government until his demand for the 5.6 billion dollar needed for the wall is delivered; it seems American taxpayers will pay for that ineffective wall anyway...

This would be great theater, if it was theater. Sadly it's not, and I'm regularly stunned by how people can get worked up in fights over this presidency, or any presidency for that matter. Politics is theater. For Trump or against Trump, for Obama or against Obama, it's all so meaningless. In the meantime the American people are suffering while their political leaders fight the wars of their masters. Democrat or Republican, for me, looking at it from the outside, there's no difference; the people lose. Here's the video that inspired me to write these few thoughts down...
