Today we have Mercury (our words) and Venus (love and the material world) meeting again at 16˚ of the first sign of the zodiac, Aries, they last met on March 4 at 27˚ of the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces. We also have the Sun entering the last degree of that last sign, Pisces.
The Aries Moon connects with Uranus in Aries before going void at 1.29pm MST (timeanddate.com for local times) until 7.06pm MST when she enters earthy Taurus.
There is still zero air energy in the Cosmic make up.
The image that comes to mind is the Inipi (sweat lodge) ceremony.
I was lucky enough, in the late 80’s to be invited to Native ceremonial sweats. We built the lodge and fire outside it from scratch and the Elders prayed as we took part in the ceremony.
By design the lodges are airless and are fire and water (water is poured on the hot stones) to produce the steam. They are also earthy as all materials used were from the earth, including the stones.
The ceremonies are intensely purifying but also deeply connected to spirit and visions. I had visions during sweats that are still vivid in my mind.
It feels as if we are in the Sweat Lodge. Deeply connected to earth with Mars, Saturn, Lilith, Pluto, Pallas and Sedna all in earth signs. Powerful water energy with the Sun, Jupiter, Chiron, Neptune, Juno, Hygeia and Astraea in water signs. And increasing fire energy with the Mercury/Venus conjunction, the Moon, Uranus, Eris, Vesta and Ceres all in fire signs.
The physicality of this is palpable as we can touch and/or see these three elements.
We won’t have any air at all until the Moon moves into Gemini overnight on the 19th/20th for 2 1/2 days and, after that, we’ll be airless again until Pallas Athena moves into Gemini and the Moon moves into Libra on March 30th. We have no major air energy until Venus moves into Gemini on April 24!!
Add to this lack of air energy the fact that Mercury, our words, is turning retrograde on March 22 at that 16˚ Aries mark where Mercury/Venus are conjunct today.
It’s all an inner game right now on this turning of the seasons. Connecting to our core values, purifying our desires. What do we REALLY desire once we pull away from the media onslaught and the influences of culture, family and institutions.
The Chandra symbol for 16˚ Aries is:
A bodiless head asleep on the beach.
Cast into exile, sworn to silence. Held to an ancient code to be a watcher, a perfect witness to the inward reverberations of all things. Outward events and experiences are gone, mean nothing here. All that counts is to sense into things, to remember the essence and to know the forgotten worlds. It is a lonely vigil, a strange destiny, with a piquant flavor of sorrow mixed with exultation. What others are happy with is far out of reach, unimaginable. Yet what so many others miss and are put off from is here vividly, vibrantly indwelled every moment, which sweetens the bitter cup and allows the greater task to be taken up with a surrendered will and a quiet, inward repose.
All that counts is to sense into things. It’s all we can do with no words.
Go within and think (Mercury) about what you truly value (Venus).
Dreams and visions are off the charts.
Not everyone will be able to cope with this inner game though, especially with Mars, Aries ruler, out of bounds in Capricorn. Where words are used they are likely to be words with no filter because there is immense frustration with no air and this shifting energy. Of course frustration can lead to things being said that don’t quite come out right or come out unfiltered and that can hurt.
