**BITSHARES HANGOUT FROM 2017-08-18.**

This is my entry for the BitShares Open Source Hangout intro/outro contest. The main idea of this contest is to to add your own narrated intro and outro to the hangout recording via audio software and also add some music to spice it up! Because you have to upload the final recording to youtube you also need to use video editing software or online websites to convert your recording to the .mp4 file.

Maybe you thought there is no contest this week as @officialfuzzy didn't make any post about it, but that is because the contest was moved onto @walterz. Go and follow him to not miss anything! :)

**This week’s topics included (thanks @rawbinhutt!):**
>@officialfuzzy covered key news delivered by @steempower on The BitShares UI worker proposal, Bitspark switching from Bitcoin to BitShares, The Billion HERO Campaign website and more.
@cm-steem talked about how he and others managed to succed in auditing Poloniex’ cold storage account. Their hot wallet was empty, but is no more.
@alexpmorris gave an update on how BitShares Taker Orders are working as expected, and how he had been documenting and isolating the issue.
@taconator talked about how the GUI Worker Proposal was approved.
@taconator also talked about how user Zhaomu (@lzmlam) was essential for improved communication between the Mandarin-language and the English-language community.
@cm-steem then covered BSIPs BitShares Improvement Propsal. On this secment, discussions took place on possibilities for sidechains, potentially locking away BitShares for higher voting power and more.
