The Alienbutt Saga, Book 1. War of the Coffee Bean. Part 48.

Wickede and Alienbutt stood in the centre of the camp, each holding pulse-rifles. Wickede had sent the frog people to hide in the forests until the occupants of the new ship were known, while Frank sat in the pilot’s chair of Alienbutt's ship ready to take off, Kirk standing beside him.
“Hope whoever they are they’ve got whiskey aboard, Wick.”
Wickede shook his head. “After that two day hangover you had the other week you want to start drinking again?”
A flare in the darkening sky heralded the ship entering the atmosphere; both adjusted their stance and hefted their guns.
“Only a small ship then, so won’t have much room for storage, Piestoff,” Wickede said, matter of factly.
The two watched the ship swing about to erratically head for the camp, which was lit up with flood lights as twilight advanced to full night.
“Well either he’s a crap pilot, or he must have lost his computer and controls the same as we did,” observed Wickede as the ship got closer.
“Just hope Frank’s right about him losing his guns too if he's not friendly, or as cool as this looks, us standing out here is going to be a bloody stupid thing to do,” added Alienbutt, rolling his shoulders to relieve the ache there.
“Did you ever watch the old Earth movie called Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? There’s a great bit at the end,” started Wickede,
“If they died I don’t want to know,” cut in Alienbutt. Wickede stopped talking and looked guilty as they watched the ship get closer.
“They did die, didn’t they? What a great comparison to make,” said Alienbutt, looking at Wickede with a silent accusation in his eyes.  “You really know how to make me feel better. He’s not slowing down. I think standing here is gonna backfire, Wickede,” Alienbutt said, starting to sound worried.
“He will, or he’s gonna crash the ship big time,” Wickede replied, not sounding convinced. “He'll hit the brakes soon.” Both continued to watch for another few seconds as the ship loomed larger, then as one, they turned and ran as the nose of the ship hit the far side of the camp, sending up a shower of earth as the ship started to plough through the ground towards them.

Alienbutt got to his knees coughing. Dust and soil filled the air, but the ground had stopped moving. Picking up his rifle he stood up and peered through the gloom. Half the floodlights that were set up around the camp had stopped working or been smashed. As the dust began to settle, he made out the shape of the half buried ship and over to the right of Wickede, who was also getting to his feet.
“She’s a Federation scout ship, Wickede. How the hell did they get F.T.L. technology?” Alienbutt shouted over to his friend.
The door on the side of the ship began to open but stopped half way. Smoke and fumes billowed out. With two great metallic bangs the occupant knocked open the door the rest of the way and walked out. Through the smoke and dust, Alienbutt struggled to see the figure. He looked about the same size as him, but bulked much larger in the hazy light.
Then Alienbutt's wrist communicator burst to life.
It was Frank. “Look out, it’s a cyborg! And Alienbutt, you’re not going to believe this, but it’s half Alienbutt.”
“Who put that bloody hill there?” demanded the booming voice of the cyborg. Turning towards Alienbutt, he raised his arm as if to point, and opened fire with a small rail gun attached to the arm.
Wickede was already running. As he saw the cyborg raise his arm to point at Alienbutt, he jumped. Crashing into his friend, they both went flying just as the bullets from the cyborg’s arm-mounted gun cut through the space where Alienbutt had been stood.

Wickede got to his knees and brought up his rifle. “Come on Alienbutt, let’s shoot this thing and then get the hell out of here.”
Alienbutt nodded and brought his rifle to bear. As the cyborg came into view again, both fired. The cyborg was lifted off its feet and fell backwards. Wickede stood up and inspected a large rip in his trousers. He was just about to speak when four loud pops came from the direction of the cyborg.
Alienbutt jumped up and grabbed his arm, dragging him away from the crashed ship and the cyborg. “Wickede, it's a fart attack. Run!” screamed Alienbutt in alarm.
Both started to run as a green gas cloud began to expand from the area where the cyborg had landed.
