<center> https://steemitimages.com/256x512/https://steemitimages.com/DQmNqdaqyi3y4ZnA7x6aRY5Z12txjQPYf1395HM5wNq9HWG/32kg.png ## Today was meant to be a day off, but I have trouble doing nothing so I thought I'd bust out some volume in the Grease the Groove (GTG) format. ###### I've been reading a few posts by @ninjamike lately and noticed he's been doing the 100 rep a day challenge posted by @steemmatt in the link below https://steemit.com/health/@steemmatt/the-steemit-daily-100-rep-fitness-challenge-day-1-find-your-inspiration-and-join-me-now After reading about @steemmatt and his motivations for working out, I thought I might as well give a brief explanation of my motivations. I've been hit by several cars while training and competing in road cycling events and I've quite comprehensively busted both knees, one hip, one shoulder, both wrists and also done some serious damage to my spine. If I don't do enough focused strength training, within weeks I get to the point where I can't walk, I have so many severed ligaments and tendons that my body is held together by muscle tension & will power. Even when I have been training I have to think about every step I take and if I lose concentration for a fraction of a second I typically end up doing a faceplant. Strength training maintains the mind body connection well enough to allow me to function. So training isn't a lifestyle choice for me it's an absolute necessity. My normal training schedule would take me past the 100 rep count per day if I include my warmup and cooldown reps but today I did things a bit different just for the challenge. ### Training - over an 8 hour period **GTG fatbar pullups** 12 sets of 5 reps -60 reps **GTG pushups** 12 sets of 5 reps - 60 reps **GTG CoC #1 gripper** 60 reps per hand - 5 per hand after each set of pullups. 240 reps total </center>
