#####
Today, I am going to talk about the lessons that I have learned from my relationships. Here, I mean different types of relationships like cousins, friends, family members and ex boyfriends.

So, I would like to start by sharing my personal experiences with you all.

I am someone who holds on to people just for the sake of the relationship we had so far, even if things turned out to be worse. Holding people just made me emotionally weak, although I kept smiling like things don’t bother me. But, it was killing me inside. And then, I started losing a part of myself due to those relationships.

Then, I realised, this way I will destroy myself and surely go into depression soon. This realisation was my eye-opener.

So, I started to divert my mind and invest on myself. After I started giving time to myself, I learned many lessons in life regarding relationships.

Lessons learned so far:

1. Don’t rush: This is the biggest lesson I have learned from my past relationships. We need to give time and build the base in any relationship. If the base is not strong, things get ugly easily.

2. Learn to respect the differences: We all know that everyone is different. Still, we get into fights when things don’t end up our way. This is because, we never learned and understood the importance of respecting each others differences.
It’s okay to disagree with someone but it’s not okay to disagree with being disagreeable. And, I guess many of us need to understand this.

3. Acceptance: Acceptance is the key for long term relationships. We need to accept the other person as they are. We shouldn’t try to change them just because we love them. And ya, acceptance is really tough in some situations. But, at last we need to accept the fact that everyone is different and we need to love and respect them as they are.

These are the major lessons I have learned so far. We all might know about these things, but still we don’t want to change. This is the reason behind all the “complicated relationships” nowadays. So, remember “change is the new constant” if you want to grow and build good relationships in your life.

Thank you 😊
