From my chamber: Patients with constipation
In last two days, two patients came with severe form of constipation or hard stool. First one was a Bangladeshi guy, came yesterday. He was having very hard stool and was unable to defecate. Then he took some laxative syrup from a local pharmacy. The syrup made his rest of the stool soft a bit but a terminal hard part remained unchanged.  He could feel with finger but couldn't bring it out. 

I did DRE (digital rectal examination) and found very hard stool sitting just inner part of the anus. I also failed to bring it out with my finger tips. He had severe pain as well so that I stopped trying manually. I gave him laxative suppository to put him at anus and try at home. If still unsuccessful,  I advised hims to see a surgeon. 

Today afternoon the second patient came who was an Omani middle-aged lady. She was having a very hard stool for the last 7 days. A very little amount was passing in each try. She was also having pain in her anus. She actually came herself to take enema. 

Fleet enema  is a treatment option for severe form of constipation.  I gave order and a nurse put the enema in her anus. A few minutes later she passed the motion.
