Well, first and foremost!

Hello Steemit!

My name is Tom and I am brand new to steemit and really posting things in general. I have heard people talking about how excited they are about this new social media platform and supportive the community behind it is! So I thought, "what the hell, let's give it a go!" And here I go!

A little about myself:
-

I find life quite bizarre. How existence functions, how reality is reliable and sturdy, self-organizing, colorful and consistent. It is something to experience, truly! I try to live my life aligned with my values and what I believe to be important. Although that doesn't always work I really do think you have to do what you want in this life. At least give it a shot, do what you want, try it and if you fail at it well at least you gave it a go. But no one is getting out of this thing alive SO, might as well have some fun. And if you had fun, then can you fail?

One of my favorite things to do is write jokes and perform them. I plan on using steemit for a variety comic pursuits. From satire pieces to goofing off with friends. Reality can be a lot to handle and I feel that comedy can help relieve pressure from all the seriousness. One may say that humor can relieve some steem...

This photo was from an awesome show that I put together with local Calgarian Comedians, it was a psychedelic-themed comedy show and was a blast. I run all my comedy shows and satire projects under the name Fire in the Mad House, hence the name @fitmhcomedy. One day Ill do a post on where I got the name!

- Cryptocurrency
I have found myself working a cryptocurrency exchange and spend a good amount of my time looking up projects and trying to wrap my head around the technical side. I'm interested in the potential that cryptocurrency and blockchain can bring innovation, increase communication, decrease waste and move away from centralized systems.
I am also a huge fan of BitConnect I really think that what they are doing is fantastic, Im going to put in $10,000 CAD!

- Mushrooms/ Herbalism/ Nutrition
I tend to lean towards a holistic lifestyle. I am learning more and more about wild foraging mushrooms and how to cook wild with plants. For a while, I was teaching youth classes on the 4 essential kingdoms of food. We would eat bugs and learn how to ferment food! This is a photo I took last year in Costa Rica of some Reishi Mushrooms.

- Van life

Great first post.  Really enjoyed it.  So you are an early adopter of both Steem and bitconnect.  Good for you. 
Also enjoyed seeing the reishi mushrooms.  We collect them on our farm here in VA.  My wife finds that they help her inflammation.  If you enjoy foraging you should check out the homesteading tag and specifically look for the homesteadersonline group. They are a very strong and supportive group here on steemit.
