Really? Does he still have a restaurant in Siem Reap... maybe we have been there? Lived there for the past 1.5 years... and indeed very much build up and more building arising every day that's why we decided to go back to the coast. It was getting too busy. Also, the air quality was so bad from all the cars. Loving the peacefulness of Kep and clean air. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!

No, he does not have a restaurant in Siem Reap. Sorry, I did not explain that part. I trained with him in NYC, in the late 90's up until 2000. At the time of the Khmer Rouge in the 1970's he was in Paris at university. When the Khmer Rouge took over he was cut off from his family and had to live on his own. He left university and became a chef. And then he became a really good chef and came to NYC in the 1980's. We worked together in NYC in the 1990's at a restaurant called Le Cirque. It was during the 1990's that he was "allowed" to buy back his family's land and rebuild. And then when he retired in 2000 he invited my wife and I to visit his family's estate in Siem Reap. That trip was one of my most favorite trips of my life. The people and food of Cambodia are incredible.
