Mehn this is a powerful post . One that should be reflected on. I love the part where you said ***if you wana make God laugh, tell him your plans***. Lolz...that's undeniably true. Even the holy book says that his ways are not our ways  nor his thoughts our thoughts. That means , we can make plans but it is what he really wants that happens . 

When I pray everyday I no longer ask for things coz Jeremiah 29:11 says that ***his plans for me are not of evil but of good to lead me to am expected end*** , so if God's plans for me are of Good and if he is the God that knows the end from the beginning, why stress myself praying for things I want...All I do is say ***may you will be done oh lord***.

What if my own will would lead to my destruction ? What if my own desires are of no good at all? 

I no longer make serious plans too without asking for the will of God to be done. I have made lots of plans in the past which didnt come through so why continue when I know that ***we are nothing but pencils in the hands of the creator.***

Ever been asked that "5 years" question? You know the one that goes "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" Ever have that 5 year prediction be anywhere NEAR close? I learned a long time ago to simply roll with the punches. I'm not saying that planning is bad...we need to plan to make sense of our lives sometimes. And planning can lead to positive outcomes.

But I've probably had as many successes from things that the Universe has simply thrown in my path..and I've been bold, brave or stupid enough to answer the call. And I don't believe I've ever had my own long-term plans end up anywhere near where I thought they should. Sometimes I had greater success much faster, sometimes I had searing failures, and sometimes I simply scrapped the plans mid-stream, realizing I was focused on the wrong goal.

I think basically life is meant to be lived, and while planning is a part of that, it also goes against the grain of the Universe, which is by definition in a state of constant entropy...while also constantly expanding.

In a world where we mortals somehow find a way to convince ourselves that we can orchestrate our own course.

But that's for me a mere product of overstretched imaginations. Truth is, we are only playing a role that some unseen forces have given us to play. 

At some points when we feel we've arrived at the threshold of our peak,  these Forces strike us, sometimes to remind us that we are only but humans,  other times to humble us and make us stronger for the future.

Sometimes we just find ourselves playing some bad roles, Yah!  Karma will still visit us, it's simple. Because it's the same Forces that created our roles also punish us for consenting to play such roles. 

In all,  it's always cool viewing life from both sides.  Nice piece of work @rok-sivante

Life is a journey on a train with its stations, with changes of routes and accidents. At birth we boarded the train and met our parents and we believe that they will always travel on our side. However, at some stations our parents step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone. As time goes by, other people will board the train;and they will be significant i. e. our siblings, friends, children and even the love of our life. Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we don't realize that they vacated their seats! This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes and farewells. Success consists of having a good relationship with all the passengers…..

The best motivators of our time are not those who started their story with how they got to their prime  without setbacks, it's those who start by telling us how they tried and failed, how life struck them so hard that they almost threw in the towel...  

Those are the inspiring tales people wanna hear and draw knowledge from.  It's still hard for me to come in terms with the fact that some people don't still embrace failure or hiccups as a road path to the pinnacle.

I've come to realize that sometimes we humans need a little nudge or spank to get our dumb Ass moving. 

Life plays the role of a martinet or watchdog very well.  Sometimes we work so hard and get nothing, the other times we barely do much,  and yet we gain excess...  Now these things happen. 

Learning to embrace life the way it is, undiluted and uncensored is just the perfect way never to freak out.

I couldn't agree more. You have said it all by this line. A community I am leading is currently working to host a meetup on 17th of March in a region of my country where nothing has been heard of Steemit. And the support I am currently getting or not getting is serving quite like a curveball to me.

Empty jar represents the LIFE:
One day a Psychology professor placed an empty jar on his table.
1. He proceeded to fill the jar with golf balls until the jar is full.
Then the professor asked the students whether the jar was full or not
The Students replied that the jar is full
2. He then poured some pebbles into the jar. The pebbles filled the space between the golf balls.

The same goes for life
If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you
Pay attention to the things critical to your happiness
Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit your grandparents. Take your spouse out for dinner. Go out with your friends. There will always be time to clean the house and mow the lawn
Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just salt

Life is A world stage where we just come, play our part and then depart from there. As William Shakespeare says All The World's A Stage from the play As You Like It. I think it's a good metaphor to describe life as an actor/actress playing our part on a world stage. Because in a way life lies between birth and death. It just about living the time we get, trying to be happy against all odds and spreading a smile. People make life complicated by overthinking about it. Life is not as philosophical as people make it.

I just woke-up to meet your post because here it is the morning hours and after reading through all the lines of your post, I felt you were writing to me directly, without missing words you have said it all, I would say life is a great teacher, we learn from life everyday and personally, I tag life "A SCHOOL OF NO GRADUATION" because no one can claim he/she knows or have seen life actually the way it is because you never can tell what life will throw at you the next minute. 

To some people life can be fair, while to other it can be cruel and in the next minute it can change the other way round. Personally I have come to realise that life comes with it's up's and down and it is simply unpredictable. 

No matter how one plans, life has other plans for you like you said above and that is the express truth because personally I am a living witness to that. In conclusion I just believe we should keep pushing no matter what life throws at us and always hope for the better because in the course of life it is hope that keeps us going.

The curveballs are what make life interesting, the universe knows are strength and weakness and is alway seeking to make us reach our highest level of potential. Personally the loss of my dad in 2014 was life changing, I was depressed but I pulled through and I am stronger,independent and looking forward to a great future.

This is one of the best post on steemit. @rok-sivante you nailed this well and your audience was able to react to this message so well.

I couldn't agree more... Life throws us so much unbelievably cool stuff and most of the time we're barely conscious enough to be grateful for it... (You never know what you got until it's gone, **_amirite_** ?)

But when life doesn't go the way we want it to, suddenly we feel cursed and punished, like we're somehow unworthy (or even worse, that the **_fricking Cosmos_** is **"unfair"**)...

Well, that just seems to be the way the brain is wired, there wouldn't be much to the concept of duality if things always panned out perfectly... After all, this Universe is everything and it's opposite, and that opposite needs to express itself from time to time... It's all spiraling energy-wave dynamics that are at best intuited and at worse completely incomprehensible to the human mind...

When I ask myself the question: "How does the Cosmos keep a perfect balance between all of these opposing forces in such a dynamic and energetic Universe"; well, the least I can do is humble myself by saying there are things that I simply cannot see that are happening behind the scenes, things that are absolutely necessary, and yeah, I guess **_sometimes_** those factors might "fuck-up" my ego-gratification from time to time... And I'm okay with that...

Xavier Omar had some lyrics that went "If it's not how I want it; it's just how I need it", which I think is a more elegant form of the "Everything happens for a reason" saying, and certainly much better attitude than the stoic fatalism of a "God works in mysterious ways" ethos. 

I really liked two things you said:

I think in the end, like you say, no matter the grey clouds getting in the way of our time in the sun, if we can find **_the silver lining_** in those clouds, not only will we be all the more happier for it, but when that sun actually pops it's shinny little teletubbies head from behind them and bathes our soul in sweet radiant blissful warmth and love

**_We'll have learned just how lucky we are to be alive and appreciate it for what it really is, a holy miracle_**

As the top comment mentioned, about people who never faced adversity or setbacks, **_and therefore had everything handed to them on a silver platter_**, they're not fulfilled... And they go much less far than those who overcame their difficulties and transcended their own limitations...

Neccessity is the mother of invention. It's only by being put in a tough spot that we are forced to go deeper and seek creative solutions to the problems plaguing our lives, which if they were less severe, we might or would just accept and carry as an unnecessary burden...

I was listening to Manley P. Hall the other day and he said that humans beings are supposed to solve problems. Problems arise, and we're supposed to solve them... I thought that was an incredible insight... In the sense that if we have a problem, ignoring it is really not what we're meant or designed to do... We're supposed to dream up a solution...

So I think curve balls are all part and parcel of the Evolutionary Process and should therefore be seen as creative opportunities... We don't control what happens to us... The only thing we can control is our response, and that's where the infinite potential of the creative genius of mankind lies! 

This post made me feel good because I've been dealing with a pretty major curveball, and I think I'm gonna be grateful for it now!

Yes!

From my perspective these curveballs are Universal reminders that we shouldn't adhere too stronlgy to a thought-made plan, and instead open up to the limitless possibilities of unfoldment so as to always stay flexible in our decision-making with utter Trust and Faith that the way 'things' develop is the highest vibrational path for our Soul with the most long-term positive lesson for us.

As I had it two days ago with @vimukthi, a plan doesn't require a thought-made road map. Thought attachment to a specific way calculates only that which lies within the eye, while our Intuition calculates what lies without the eye, letting our every movement and action become a preemptive measure which dissipates the curveball's troublesome impact on our subconscious so that when it shows up in our conscious it has already been "dismantled".

Plan and vision are different. The former relies on illusory Knowingness, the latter on faithful Unknowingness.

yes as it happens then we just follow the scenario of life. though sometimes it must be moan. what can we comment but there is no change if we do not want to change it.

Everything needs a process and everything needs a win, I think we have to be strong in facing any ordeals. if we succumb to weak but try to rise from evil.dengan we will be the winner.

No need to be discouraged by the conditions that we feel at that time, if only we just complain we can give the hatred of others. try to get others inspired by what we do.

You cover a lot of ground here, brother, and the first thing that comes to mind (which you hint at) is that *the obstacle is the way*

When I first encountered this it gave me pause for thought, as I'm especially susceptible to truth in paradox.

Curve balls, are Life's reminder to stay humble, and flexible, and unattached.  She wants us limber like dancers :)

May we try to expect the unexpected (or, at least, not come undone by it).  Now, Stoic philosophy comes to mind and how it advises us to brace ourself for the worst at all turns, so that we practice preparedness.

I think like this: *"to make a change in a better direction is not easy.Not to change another person or a system Sometimes to change yourself is hard to die. However, whatever form of that change, as long as it is in the realm of life, you will be able to do it. At a minimum by being who you really are, you will be a role model for many changes that are ready to follow your steps. Reproduce do and make improvements continuously. That alone may be the introduction, the rest you can read in the following beautiful words and hopefully be able to change the way and direction you in the act. Progress is not possible without change and the person who does not change his mind will not be able to change anything. "*

Nice topic, I've had a major curveball recently: my daughter was born just over a year ago, wasn't expecting her at all, I had only been seeing the girl(now girlfriend) for 2 weeks before we knew she was coming.

I fought it so hard for a while, half accepting it, half wanting it to go away, and I don't know why, because she's awesome and my life is solid, and I've learned so much from every part of it.

Life throws curves, we just have to go with it or resist and watch the struggle/suffering persist
