I loved all the pictures, especially the one of the hunter moon. Of all 13 moons each year, this one is my favorite. It always comes at a turning point in nature, where light gives way to the dark and life gives way to death. Our ancestors celebrated this moon together and shared their resources with each other to make it through the coming winter. The gathering of fruits and vegetables lessens and the harvesting of animals takes rise. Here in the mountains of East Tennessee I spent this weekend singing, dancing and drumming in the rays of the moonlight. During the solar hours we enjoyed feasting, workshops, children's activities and sharing of many other gifts with community so that we honor this time of year together in gratitude. My weekend closed with a full moon ceremony giving thanks to each of the elements, our ancestors, our community, our future, and the divine aspects of masculine and feminine.
