If you ever visit South Africa and you love birds, you should surely make a plan to visit this awesome nature reserve, it is +-100km or 1 hour drive outside Cape Town and hosts a large amount of species of bird and also some of the larger antelope species of the country. I got this image from a bird hide that is right on the lagoon and the light there is perfect in the mornings. The one thing I would recommend is to plan your shoot according to the tides, if you go in the morning you should check the tide table to make sure it is high tide, that is when the birds get closest to the hide. I shot this image using a Nikon D500 and a Nikon 200-500mm 5.6 lens. If you have any questions about nature and bird photography or just photography in general, feel free to ask me, I can give some good advice. Also if you plan on visiting South Africa, do not be afraid, for that you can also ask me.
