Sometimes when I hear your voice Fall into my ears like pebbles Skipping through dark waters, I feel enlivened as if they Have stirred the depths of my soul And shifted stagnant silt to the surface. I begin, I begin, I begin again. I stir into wakefulness and thirst For more of your warmth, your words, Your voice calling my name, laughing At me, with me, for me, for you, at yourself too Because you too have seen the infiniteness Of our tiny space, You know the suddenness of our departures, You feel the raw sweetness of our emotions And you know that we are one and we are not. Your words, your voice, the song you sing When you speak is primordial in its truth. The song lacks a tune but it is beautiful still. When I hear its rhythm beneath the cadence Of your accent, I feel like I have come home. What you give to me is life. Like a flower tasting drops of rain After the harmattan winds pass away, I have tasted of this love and it grows me, Fills me with dreams of fertile soils And lush valleys, of rich seas And scampering children at the spring. You did this, you made me breathe again. You did this, you made me breathe again. My words may flutter around you Each and everyday but it is your smile That makes me speak, It is the yes in your eyes that makes me Dare to hold your waist and swing you Into a lawless dance, an imperfect twirl, A comical twist, a complete melding of souls. If I have never said it before Or you have never heard it before, Know this; I love you, I love you, Yes I love you and if you don't love me As much as I do or not at all It is fine for I can love alone. I can love you from a distance. I can leave your hand and watch you go, Loving your shadow Then the echo of your feet. I can love your memory as well And whether you stay or not I'll never forget that I love you And that for a time, I held you, Listened to my name on your lips, Made you laugh and made you dance. *** <center>![IMG20191021WA0011.jpeg](https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/warpedpoetic/KYLG4SA8-IMG-20191021-WA0011.jpeg)</center><center>*I took this with my infinix phone.
