You may or may not be aware of a particular subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/millionairemakers/ which is an embodiment of a showerthought: https://redd.it/2mq94c Basically: If 1 million people gave $1 to someone, they could make that person a millionaire. Many of the issues that I see with the Reddit model can be solved by moving to the Steemit platform. Instead of trying to coax them to move to Steemit, I figured the world is better off with more than 1 of these drawings anyway, So I decided to take action. Steemit works differently than reddit, and I intend to improve upon the millionairemakers concept in every way that I can.
Currently, /r/ millionairemakers drawings take place once a month, with a thread that stays open for 24 hours, people upvote the thread to attract attention, and top level commentators whose accounts meet a certain criteria are entered into a draw in the upcoming days. Participants are supposed to give $1 to
When visiting my friends on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia this past February, I told them all about Steemit.
They were politely interested, however not compelled enough to start accounts of their own.
Clearly my salesmanship was lacking...
Steph is an amazing artist and an incredible mum; she's also one of the funniest and most honest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.
She gifted me some prints of my favorite paintings of hers...
I'm going to share one per day this week.
If you're interested in seeing more and perhaps making a purchase, you can do so by going to her website:
Let her know Craiggles sends his love 😉
Here is Steph's art, once again, on a Monday 🙂
Have a great week everyone!
I'm sharing some of the sketches I did this weekend in the Walter's Art Museum in Baltimore. The roman and greek statues room is a great place to sketch (Although having to draw while standing is tiring.) I was drawing these sketches as quickly as I could while trying to be accurate. I believe more people should sketch in art museums. It is a great way of spending more time with the piece and understanding it better. Greco-Roman statues are particularly good for practicing because their light marble material reveals structure well.
Here's another copic speedpaint for you guys. This is a drawing I did for a
Draw with Blood Art Challenge video I made a while back.
This is a more condensed version with only music in the background instead of me talking.
The illustration is partially inspired by the urban legend of Bloody Mary, but with more of a demonic spin to it!
I hope you guys enjoy it :)
Girlfriend and friend in a double seated kayak
What a summer so far! It's was one of the rainiest winters I have ever been in, roads were falling off the mountains and rivers were overflowing and flooding in some areas of Santa Cruz. We need the rain but holy moly it's tough being stuck inside for so long. I've been feeling so grateful to be able to spend so much time outside this last month.
It was a gorgeous day so we decided to paddle around on kayaks with a friend around the Elkhorn slough. It's a very active area and a birthing and raising location for many sea otters, harbor seals other wildlife. I saw so many otter pups! I decided to be super brave and bring a scaled down watercolor set with me and use the water off the side of the boat to wet my paints.
Something to bake.
Leave the pan on the stove.
Think: Hey that are nice circles.
Make a photo.
Edit it a little.
Cutting and a filter.

Oil on canvas. This painting was create buy building colors on the canvas with a small pallet knife. The canvas was hand wrapped and I used push pins in stead of staples to give a raw hand made look. I hope you guys enjoy, let me know what you think.

Every day this week I have passed this large tree, he is a giant in a field of crops. This evening I went out with my pen and sketch pad to draw him. His bark is grey with character and protruding sprigs of fresh green leaves. I wonder what he has seen whilst stood here over all those years.
The next year is about to come .
Not so far.
The same year .
My original abstract painting
Art is an expression of the inner self. Where our imagination becomes a design. A place, emotion and thought combine, as to one, align. - Droucil
This colourful piece of art was created by a dear friend of mine who gave me permission to post it. Drawn with oil pastels on a sheet of black paper. Inspired by the Chinese calendar with 2017 being the year of the rooster (info here). It is a true honour that I may share this beautiful artwork with the world and hope you all see as much beauty in it as I do ;)!
Productivity is happening in the studio today as I work on this commission of Dawn Treader. It's a big one at 24
x48 and there's all sorts of fun details and lighting that will be going down. So far I laid down the ground and just finished getting my drawing in. I'm going to be hiding away for the rest of the evening and will be getting back to your comments soon. Updates to come!
As time passes, so many things and stories I have been through. Sometimes it's a mystery, a war and a peace. But I have enjoyed it, so in the end I always feel lonely, and I keep getting bored.
I never told a story about a person, even in this paper, the delivery was like a complaint, but no, because I was feeling lonely.
The painting above is a scribble of my hand in the time that has passed, and it happened that I felt the same state as the present feeling. But this painting became a friend when I started feeling lonely for now.
