The number 28 was not chosen by the Texas Lotto! Here are the results:
Congratulations to everyone who answered "no"! Payout will be made soon.
FULL STEEM AHEAD!!!
THANK YOU TO ALL THAT ARE PARTICIPATING!!!!
The winning numbers will still be based on the numbers drawn by the Texas Lottery. The winner will only need to match 4 out of the 6 numbers that are drawn to win. This not only increases the odds of winning, but it also increases the odds of there being more than one winner.
As people enter I will put everyone's numbers in my spreadsheet, which I have already created, and match the entries to the winning numbers.
In order to enter stememians must upvote the lottery post. Entries submitted without an upvote will be declared invalid. This will ensure that there will only be one entry per Steemit account and will make the jackpots bigger.
The winner of any single drawing will win 40% of the pot or $100 Steem dollars if the pot is less. I will keep 25% of the pot for running the lottery and buying promotional giveaways. 35% of the lottery will go to promote Steemit some how. I haven't decided exactly how to use the promotion money but I think it should be a Steemit community decision. So I guess we'll vote on that.
The Steemit World Lottery will now have 2 posts per game. Players can enter once on each post. So each player will be able to enter twice per game.
So pick 4 numbers between 1-52, then upvote post, then post you numbers in a comment/reply.
FULL STEEM AHEAD!!!!!!
p.s. No one won in the last drawing. The winning numbers were:

As some of you may have noticed over the past month I've been powering down my Steem Power. Today marks the 4th in a row and after it's complete I'll be cancelling it and not powering down anytime soon in the foreseeable future. Let it be known that I am NOT exiting the STEEM network and my reasoning behind the power-down was to ensure I had enough funding to once again move to a new place.
It's been a stressful past month and as much as I'd like to say it hasn't effected my work or mental health it certainly has. Somewhere between run-down and uncomfortable is my current frame of mind. What it leaves is much room for improvement not only in my day to day but also in how fast I can code, test and launch my planned services for STEEM. Moving twice back to back within 2 months isn't something I'd wish on my most heinous rival.
I haven't been posting as much lately as I like nor getting the work that I'd hoped done completed. It's amazing how looming stresses of uncertainty have such a dire effect on my psyche. However rather than continue my power down in hopes that enough money can solve my problems I've decided to stop powering down.. Why? Because it's a lot harder to get STEEM than it was before the last hardfork and I'd love to have a respectable holding if possible in the future just for sheer speculation value alone.
I think I have enough fiat to move to another place. Just waiting on word back from a few places I'd looked at recently to see if I do infact have a place to move come the end of the month. I will keep everyone updated. Not giving up, it's not an option. Will STEEM on!
get back on the horse keep riding and go on to meet my goals. I owe it to STEEM.
Say I bought 300 SP, but were then to immediately power down, would that go straight into my STEEM wallet, or would it take 2 years (as I read somewhere) ?

Mine Bitcoin @ GenesisMining.com 3% discount coupon code = YVhXDJ
Purchasing small amounts of hash power over time, eventually my daily payments overtook the amount I invest, right now I earn about $4 BTC per day ($120 per month), so I can upgrade my lifetime contract with $50 per month to increase my daily payment, and still have $70 profit. Some customers start with a large purchase of hash power to receive large daily payments they can re-invest frequently. Genesis Mining does all the work, and I get paid daily. 3% discount coupon code = YVhXDJ
Bitcoin will hit multiples of $1 Million per coin. Now I know you might be thinking I am just another Crypto Currency evangelist who thinks that Bitcoin and the altcoins like Steem can fix everything. Let me let you in on a little secret, Bitcoin only needs a small piece of the world economy, using it, in order to reach great heights like @Falkvinge says.
I understand that not everyone can afford to buy multiple Bitcoin. I would consider it a huge accomplishment if you just owned one Bitcoin held in cold storage. Put it in a cold storage device like a Trezor and forget about it. Don't even pay attention to the price of Bitcoin.
The second option is to work your way to owning Bitcoin. You can do this through content creation right here on Steemit. I challenged myself to write on Steemit everyday for a whole year. I earn rewards called Steem and store it in my SteemPower which earns interest. When I decide I want to sell my Steem for Bitcoin I can power down over 13 weeks. This is pure genius!
As I continue to write on Steemit daily my influence grows, my earnings grow and I reap higher and higher rewards because I am building a following. When I started on Steemit I invested .5 BTC which was essentially $250 at the time in order to buy some Steem. Looking back I realize that I did not need that. What is important is showing up everyday and creating content that the community enjoys.
I recommend you treat your Steem account like a Savings account. Earn Steem and pretend it does not exist. Let it grow and someday in the future you might realize it was the best decision you ever made.
I've always searched for evidence that blockchain technology is here to stay. A very direct way to assess that is to check how much (and whose) money is being applied on blockchain related companies. About a year ago I started following the coindesk list of bitcoin venture capital to get the pulse of this new movement. I don't need this to believe in cryptocurrencies or the underlying technology. My decisions on investment also don't rely on this. I just think it may be an interesting indicator of the overall health of the sector. Are we going to see Steemit or any other Steem based/focused company in this list soon?
Almost every month some investors trust their money to one or more companies. Whenever that happens I'll keep you updated. Here are the news of last December. Wyre and OpenBazaar received nice investments. Let's wait and see what 2017 will bring for these and other companies that are shaping the future.
The new Python-Steem 0.4 is out, but I think it could use more examples.
As I try out the new functions, I thought it would be helpful, to post some working code.
This script uses the classes Account and Amount that were part oft steemtools by @furion.
The longest part was to build the url.
from steem import Steem steem = Steem(node="wss://node.steem.ws") #temporary fix (usually: wss://this.piston.rocks ) from steem.account import Account from steem.amount import Amount account = Account("felixxx") best = 0 for event in account.history(filter_by='curation_reward'): reward = account.converter.vests_to_sp(Amount(event['reward']).amount) if reward > best: best = reward link = ("https://steemit.com/tag/@" + event['comment_author'] + '/' + event['comment_permlink']) print('\nYour curation-highscore: ' + str(best) + ' SP\nfor ' + link +'\n')
*The curation reward shown in Steem Power might be slightly wrong, since the script uses the reward VEST values
I haven’t decided just which country, but it will have to be really big…so I can park my 78 sports cars.
I Think I’ll build an eco friendly 369 room palace right in the middle and put laser weapon intruder detection all around so that we can enjoy my island palace without any riff raff.
Back to the sports cars…why do I need them, just because I can have them, is that a problem. BTW they are all electric, so they are eco friendly.
Should I buy Australia, or maybe New Zealand, or perhaps Fiji, yes that sounds nice…
Maybe I should buy Canada or the USA or …
Wow so many choices to think about, I'm sure for the right price someone will sell me their country, if they haven’t sold it to someone else already.
Who thinks I have a great idea (besides me that is)? What else should I have on my country? What country should I try to buy?
January 2017 Steemit Developers have made official Announcement about the latest upcoming development phase of Steemit, also known as Roadmap 2017
Check out the Annoucement: www.steem.io/2017roadmap
This will be an exciting year for all Steemians as there are plenty of updates planned out, expected to be implemented throughout the year, as currently the project is still in Beta
One of biggest updates that Developers plan to roll out this upcoming year, will be establishing an official Steemit Mobile Service by creating native Steemit apps based on Mobile iOS and Android operating systems
A recent Forbes article states that Steemit is the fastest growing decentralized social network, by attracting over 120,000 registered users in around six months. Steemit is already establishing a name for itself while it's in Beta, thus user can expect many more changes to be implemented in 2017
Now Developers are interested in creating ‘native’ Steemit apps to be released on official Andriod & IOS App Stores. Branching out to a certain segment of consumers, those who own a Smart Phone will be able to connect & interact with Steemit, this includes making electronic payments with little to no restriction
Because Steem uses a Graphene Blockchain, Steem transaction can be executed almost instantly with zero fees charged. Now with Mobile Remote Access and Steem as Cryptocurrency, anyone in the world can make borderless payment to one another, making your Steemit Account more than just a social profile but instead is your encrypted secure Wallet that grants you direct access to Financial Market
It's definitely a great Idea to develop Native Apps allowing over Billions of Users to connect to Steemit, now anyone with a Smart-phone & Internet Connection has direct access to the Steemit Community. Billions of users carry their phones around wherever they go, greater accessibility by Satellite Connection will allow any individual in the most remote areas in the world to stay connected
Having Native Apps that are backed by lead developers of Steemit, will give the mobile application more credibility something that will help grow Steemit as a Platform. When designing an app, it should be able to deliver full functionality that allows Users to Post, Upvote & Explore Steemit Network
The App should be user-friendly, offering lot's of features and must run as smooth as possible for it to be a hit on the App Stores
There are is already an app called Esteem, it's a great example of what to expect! However, it is always a good idea to release an official app to build a better Steemit Ecosystem. Note that eSteem is not part of Steem core development. Instead it's an opensource community project. eSteem only utilizes public API provided by Steem and Steemit
Google Playstore: Link
You should definitely give it a try, as it will be alternative application once Steemit Native Apps are released
Steemit interface is quite neat, so those using their Smart phone to browse through Steemit.com will notice that it's actually quite well optimized. Native Mobile Application will add more services to Steemit, allowing more Consumers to stay connected socially and financially with Steem
I actually used one of Google Services to test Steemit for Mobile Optimization and results are quite surprising
Here is the Link: www.testmysite.thinkwithgoogle.com
Have you notice that many Tech Companies around the world have mobile application, there was a time where the only way to access any sort of social network was through a computer, when phone weren't know to be so smart.
Compare the trend
Success stories like Instagram, prove that mobile application is Market of its own and that growth in these particular segment of devices is gaining popularity. This is a trend that will only become more pronounced over the next 10 years, as both business and personal users shift away from being tethered to desks and instead choose to access the internet any time from anywhere
A smaller segment will use Personal Computer while it's highly likely that everyone will have at least 1 Smart Phones in the foreseeable future
But thanks to increased processing power, better battery life, vastly improved networking speeds, and larger screen sizes on mobile devices, the shift away from the desktop is accelerating
Steemit has yet to capture the Interests of Billions of Users, so a personalized official Steemit App will likely make Steemit more Popular as a social Platform. With remote internet, Steemians have access to financial services that are available when interacting with Steem's Blockchain
Doesn't this go well with the SteemVerify Logo? Anyways, if you spot an error in any of my Guides please feel free to correct me and also if there is anything you would like to see a Guide on, let me know! Dedicated young Steemian interested in getting Vested. Will write more Guides & Tutorials, Follow me for more 😎! Steem to the Moon!
Steem was something I got really excited about when it was first announced. I love the idea of combining a platform that has a blockchain behind it and a social media platform. It created something that I like to see which is uncensored social media. I invested some of a bitcoin into this and started posting and reviewing content other's posted. I was surprised with what got up voted such as makeup tutorials, travel journals, and steemer's spreading the word. I felt like I couldn't do anything to make noticeable content since I am a introverted man. I then started to write on a regular occasion, and comment on everyone's posts, so get people to notice me. I then found out about whales through an exciting evening where I gained $400 from one comment. This got me really interested in this platform. A comment that could make me hundreds of dollars? A platform that pays the content creators? A place where I could dwell, gain information, share information, and gain money? I believed it to be too true, but like with bitcoin, I don't see how something like this would fail in all cases.
It is possible that steem will fail, but I refuse to believe that it will. We need people to be on this platform and believe in the currency. We need people to see value in holding steem. I think one of the issues is telling people what a post is worth. Seeing $25 just tells people that they could make $25. They do not see that they are investing in a crypto and in the platform. And if all the posters see only $$$ they will not be holding onto any steem. Using Steem as a currency is lost on me, why would I use this currency where there are cryptos mastering transactions and ledgers. Steem is not the best crypto, but the platform behind it is really what gets me excited. But if people only believe in the platform, why would they transact in steem? I believe in investing in steem if you think the crypto can take off, but why would you put money into steem, then try to use it with your friends or vendors? The obvious crypto to use would be dash, lite coin, bitcoin, etherium. Literally all the top dogs have a lot more advantages than steem. I do admire what steem has done with keeping people locked in with steem power while rewarding them with additional steem power for holding onto the currency. But this is for negating inflation of the currency and making people believe that they are making money. I can understand why steem is so cheap, why would people buy it in the first place? Who is buying into this currency with real dollars.
Steem is young, and I would love to see it do amazing things. I would love to have a new social media platform I believe in. I would love to get rewarded for creating content people want to see. But I fear that building this blockchain on top of a social media platform takes views away from a decent crypto and instead put it on how many dollars people are making for posts about crypto. Here is my question to the steem community: Why would people choose this crypto over bitcoin, dash or etherium? Aside from investing in a possible social media platform, is there a reason to hold steem instead of dash?
