When I first came across Steemit in August of last year, as most of you will know by now, I was totally blown away by the concept.
From that spilt second of first seeing the site I knew that I was looking at something that I had been waiting for, for nearly 10 years.
So that there is no mistake I will repeat this bit again ...... for nearly 10 years..!!
Soon after I first started blogging I began to share my blogs on twitter and I remember someone approaching me who began to troll my twitter feed telling everyone not to listen to me as I was talking crap.
I clearly remember replying, asking him why I was talking crap, and he went on a rampage with a string of tweets dissecting my Steemit awards and tweeting what I was earning.
At one point he made a clear point that my average was about $0.10 / post and he tweeted "I wouldn't get out of bed for that..!!"
I told him, “I would, b

Lately there has been lots of discussion about the curation rewards. I think many believe (including myself) that the curation rewards are....mhhh how do I say this....
Well simply put curation rewards have the purpose to reward users for discovering great content. However this is not what they do. Because curation rewards give people that vote for popular content early greater rewards, they create an incentive for users to vote on stuff that others will vote for later on.
This creates an advantage for algorithms over humans and also prevents people to vote on what they like, because what we like must not automatically be what will be popular to other users.
As a result there is an incentive to not vote for what we want to vote for but what we think others will vote for, especially other wales.
In other words themost
It shows what many already knew from the code: that when those with higher SP stop voting then those with lower SP get more reward allocation power. This translates into having your vote give out more $ currency from the reward pool than before.
But this is not a real solution, since whales can't vote without having a countervote flag from one or two whales running the show/experiment: smooth or abit. Whales can't vote, reward and promote the visibility of content they like. Whales have been rendered mute in their voting.
This is not a real solution to the problem of concentration of power. All it does is mask the problem over with a half-measure of a solution, something I recently talked about. This prevents the real solution from being implemented while people
There is an amazing spectacle happening behind the crypto curtains every day.
As I awake this morning, I see a dramatic unfolding of events on the exchange, and it is nothing new at all. Those who saw the price of Bitcoin skyrocket back in 2013 were the first to witness the intensity of the crytpo market and it has not ceased to create all kinds of emotions since. From mild speculation, to overzealous adoption, to outright unbelief, people all over the world are taking their position on the crypto market.
My goal here is to explore the cyclical nature of the exchange, learn alongside the Steem community, and share my findings along with personal stories of success and in some cases, embarrassing failure. In this post, I will go over the ever important rule of demystifying the market.
And here I was starting to feel left out :p. Just got my first flags from the experiment so I think I am doing something right... or very wrong. Either way. I didn't see how much the post would have made without the flag, I am kind of curious but probably better that I don't know. To any users who don't know what the experiment is, it is a way to balance out the rewards so when big accounts with a lot of voting power give people too much of the daily pool it gets taken away and put back in the pool. Everyday we have a reward pool that gets split between users and the more SP you have the more voting power you have to determine who gets what. It works but has been unbalanced so they are working on it. It leads to people getting flagged. At least I think that is what happened here, if not, let me know. And to any new users who get flagged, don't take it personally. It just means you are too awesome.
Here is the post that got flagged:
My name is Jimmy, I'm 26 years old and I live in a small city outside Stockholm, Sweden where I was born and raised. I'm living at a horse ranch with my wife and our wonderful cat. (I love animals)
I am a self-employed day trader with a focus on the foreign exchange market and has been for the past 8 years. Trading has always been one of my biggest passions since I first heard about it in high-school, and from that point, I was certain what I would work with for the rest of my life.
I've always had big goals, even as a kid but school was not one of them. Teachers have always told me that I was a smart kid, that I could be anything I wanted in life if I only studied, but I had bigger dreams than going to school, bigger dreams than the 9-5 job that I've
I am not ranting about my own flags that people gave me, that would be too self centered. No this is about some folks that zip around Steemit and flag posts that are really not
That is not my opinion, merely a fact.
Just like a Newbie - Minnow, needs to learn that a lot can be made on Steemit Curating by writing replies and upvoting replies but you need 300 minimum Steempower, the fact is, for whatever reason - people can flag you and that's life.
It depends on why they are flagging you. You might be recruiting the 4th Reich. Most people who know about the Third Reich would not want a Fourth Reich. If someone had a brain, and their family was part of the Third Reich, most of the family members who survived the end of the Third Reich would not want a Fourth Reich. So flagging the Fourth Reich might be justified.
No, this is about the flagging of professionals, who for whatever reason, have decided to publis
This reading deals with long term growth of realistic plans.
The 3 of Wands in the middle shows a long term growth energy, and how it must be nurtured over time. She is giving the wands the loving and nurturing part of herself, while the defensive energy shown in the mask is flipped to the back.
The 7 of cups in this reading is about artistic expression and optimism. In this case it is reversed, showing that this is more of a real world cause and effect type of energy than a dreamy artistic vision.
The 5 of swords on the end is showing disruptive, mean spirited, trollish energy that is trying to belittle the project. The protective mask of the 3 of wands provides the proper side to turn to the troll. The focus must be on nurturing the growth, and not on the 5 of swords, regardless of the source of the insult. There was a feeling that

So I joined steemit about a week ago now and what a tremendous journey it's been.
I found out about steemit while browsing information about different digital coins, and clicking into the link to steemit is possibly one of the best things I've done since I got interested in cryptocurrency in the first place.
I've found a fantastic community with the same interests as myself.
Been welcomed with open arms and made a little money in the process.
I even found a new passion I never even knew I had! (see link below)
I've set out on a journey on steemit to get involved with the community and that's exactly what I did, I read loads of great articles, seen some beautiful pictures, commented and asked questions and welcomed newbies to the site.
I've learned what minnows, dolphins and whales are.
I've gained 40 followers all of who I follow back, made a
And even though Im in a mental health clinic right now, thats not stopping me from telling people about Steemit and other decentralized cryptocurrencies. I have managed to get a couple people who were staying here to sign up and hopefully they will begin posting some good content soon I know my posts have been quite boring as of late, and likely will remain so for the time being.
BUT I WILL BE BACK SOON!

Hello Steemians, did you noticed this short and unbelievable rise of the SBD (Steem Backed Dollars) value today too? WTF! I don´t know what was going on, this was an amazing pump and people who sold their SBD in this short high-time, got a lot more for their SBD than usually. If you know why there was this big pump, please write it in the comments. Maybe someone with big money thought SBD is a usually altcoin and pumped it... And in the moment (22:50 CET) the next pump is coming guys!
