Ickied said as he took hold of the coin and held it in the sunlight, “It's silverton silver alright! They must hae stopped haur tae coont their booty! Come 'en men, let's move!" A narrow path led its way south out of the village and footprints in the sand told them they were on the right track. . . . . . . . . . . . . . *[On the trail south towards Chake-Chake…]* Commissioned Officer- Lieutenant Ickied, Warrant Officer- Master Yprecious, Seaman- Able Seaman Ishyculture and Seamen Urie, Ombstone, Ariusfebruary and Ackou all plodded south along the narrow trail through the jungle. It had been a rough night what with the mosquitos, the snakes and the strange jungle noises, and more than once they lost the trail altogether, only to have to back track and recovery it in the dim light of the moon. ![Mariusfebruary.2.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmS5UKwNRqn8dNi1d3NMHNBpmaN41Soh5bEULZFRTBx5EW/Mariusfebruary.2.jpg) Gradually the dawn began to light-up the jungle above them and travel got a little easier for the seven tired sailors… “"Hauld -up men! Ahh hink Ahh’m hearin' soonds ay th' village!" Ickied said as he stopped and tilted his head and listened. There definitely was sounds of human activity some half mile south and Ickied carefully instructed his men… “Att’s Chake-Chake alright. We dornt want tae caa a lot ay attention tae oorselves. Spread-oot when we burst th' clearin' ay toon, but heed west towards th' bay. Att's whaur th' French dug woods gang tae fin' a vessel! If ye see th' Legion soldiers, bide oot ay sight until we aw can regroop!" Ickied ordered. The sun was already well up in the morning sky by the time the men reached the city’s edge. Many people were moving about and the crew quickly parted ways and each man headed west along different streets, though many twisted and turned along the way. ![Chake-Chake City.2.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmaf9ATTY1RUxauhrKHcVoBJaTVgrw6kdj5QS3B8vi1qDP/Chake-Chake%20City.2.jpg) *[Back at the wharf…]* “What do you mean thirty-nine?!” The Caporal Chief said angrily as he jumped down off the boat and onto the dock next to the boat merchant, “What’s your name man?!” “Daktari…” The boat merchant said warily as the Chief invaded his private space. Pulling out a dagger, the Chief stepped up to the merchant and grabbed him by his collar, holding the blade close to his neck… “You listen well Daktari! We counted that silver just yesterday, and there were forty ounces! If you don’t want your throat slit from ear to ear, I suggest you be satisfied with what we have given you!” Daktari’s eyes were wide with fright. He swallowed hard and then nodded. ![daktari.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmefVo1L8uV8VH8xq9qBrCNvu7Sdvy9kBiJJ3Xn5mF3QYL/daktari.jpg) The Chief lowered his dagger and yelled to his sergeant, *“Prepare to shove off!”* “Yes Sir!” Watching the Caporal Chief with caution, Daktari and one of his boys slowly pushed the vessel away from the dock while the three soldiers paddled it out into open waters before lifting the sail. Daktari didn’t wave goodbye but rather spat on the dock and then watched until they got a safe distance away before speaking… *“May Popobawa take them!”* He cursed defiantly, turning back towards his shack and disappearing inside. *[At the western edge of Chake-Chake…]* It seemed that somehow most pf the streets of the city did lead down to the bay as it was the source of trade and commerce in Chake-Chake. Within an hour, all seven had found one another near the boat wharf and Ickied carefully eyed the harbor. Only one boat was out in the bay, nearly a half mile west of the docks. Its bright white sail caught the morning sun like a mirror and its small aquamarine hull shown like a gem stone upon the water. “Who's got a scope?!" Ickied asked as he gazed out to sea. “I have Sairrr…” Seaman Urie replied, pulling a small telescope out of his vest and handing it to him. ![Curie.2.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmXSttkGcgf6GwRejoJcnpezGNmEqBjCGv2AyEhieYMT3m/Curie.2.jpg) Focusing on the small craft out in the bay, Ickied steadied his arm and focused the lens… *“Fock th’ day! Th’ French dug has made off!”* Ickied cursed as he observed the red uniforms of the legion soldiers far off across the water. He slowly lowered the scope and exhaled deeply. “What shaa we teel th' Keptin noo?" Warrant Officer- Master Yprecious asked anxiously. “Guid question. Tak' thes silver an' buy us a spyug an' some scran…an' min' ye bring me back th' coppers.” Ickied ordered as he flipped the coin in the air. “Aye Sairr.” ![Seychelles-coin.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmSX4CgDgQsSKT4QzwX6c65w6WFg4zF77nFkihNb9qyESr/Seychelles-coin.jpg) ⛵ ⛵ ⛵ ⛵ ![point-o-intrest.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmd8gab6DbW7QQbisYWkwwZ32VkZvK8urGmsvtFvUvyRQ1/point-o-intrest.jpg) "Popobawa, also popo bawa, is th' nam ay an evil spirit ur shetani, which is believed by residents ay Zanzibar tae hav first appeared oan th' Tanzanian islain ay Pemba. in 1695, it was th' focus ay a majur ootbreak ay mass hysteria ur panic which spreid froms Pemba tae Unguja, th' main islain ay th' Zanzibar archipelago, an' athwart tae dar es salaam an' other urban centres oan th' eest Africar coest." - Keptin . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
