# Chapter 28: Order and morality
#

In 2008, there will not be much going on for Valmy. Our opponents struggle to delay audiences away to save time. We finally received the report from the Expert for the computer intrusion. He is overwhelming. He speaks of complicity. He quotes the two chemists as co-author.

The procedures, we know, it's long! So we wait patiently. We have our good faith and the right for us. If it's only a matter of time, we'll wait. And it's only in 2009 that everything really starts to change.

In the meantime, my professional life is running full. The magistrates gave me one, then six, then thirty files. My business is working full. I m 35 years old. I started to reconnect with my children and we often go to Brittany. I met someone too. We started living together. But the Valmy file did not leave me. It is right in my mind. I want Justice to be done, cruel irony since I'm working for her today.

The lawsuit for forgery and use of forgery is scheduled for early December 2009. This trial is crucial for us. At two days of the hearing, I receive in copy an email from my own lawyer who writes to the lawyer of our opponents. The text speaks for itself:

And the audience starts. The president recalls the facts and asks for explanations from the outset. The prosecutor's assistant is attentive to the debates. I go forward and explain. How was this document made, why and how it was used in the courts of Amiens to deceive the magistrates. Alex's lawyer replies in a very technical way. On the bottom of the file, his client just wanted to make a summary without intention to misrepresent the documents. The president reminds me at the bar and asks me to do the manipulation again. The demonstration is brilliant.

It's the prosecutor's turn. For her, there is forgery and use of forgery, and ironically, she said to the President:

- *And this is happening in your Tribunal.*

She relies on the President for the rest. All this is positive. Denis and I think we won the case. Alex's lawyer, always so calm, pleads in law. Just in law and gives several documents to the President. The verdict is expected in a few months. We return to Normandy with the feeling of having won a victory. Three months later, the judgment falls. No conviction. They are relaxed. With Denis, we do not understand. In the meantime, we have hired another lawyer who gets the minutes of the trial to appeal. And he explains to us:

- *Gentlemen, this is why you lost. Do you remember the Strauss Kahn decision? Basically, what does it say, this judgment? It says that if there is no harm, then there is no offense. And in the file as prepared by my colleague, there is no mention of the harm you have suffered. You do not have any!*

He could have stopped there but he continues. He had a discussion with the collaborator of our former lawyer who drafted the acts. Initially, the damage had been explained and it was at the request of his boss that this paragraph was deleted.

- *From the start, he had put in your file what was needed for the opponent to win. Or rather remove it from the file.*

Denis and I remain speechless. Our lawyer continues:

- *What you could not know is that the two lawyers know each other very well and work for the French Football League. They have agreed and for you it's over.*

We just got fucked and very deep for the first time. We will have to get used to it because the continuation will be of the same barrel. Goliath savored his first victory and now he now is suing David in defamation. And from the status of victim, it is me who passes on the other side of the bench. I became an accused. For daring to accuse a notable.

In 2009, nothing else is happening.
