I call this solidarity.
In Aceh, when we lost a member of the family we'll be helped by our neighbour and villagers around. In a deep sorrow of losing our father or mother or other family member, we are not alone. A lot of hands and help will immediately come from the very first day, start from the funeral, preparing the body until burrying. Men and women come with with everything they might need to give.
After burrying, the funeral will still continue for seven days forward. During these days usually people are coming for visiting the mourn family. In the moment like this, the host is not only the mourn family, but also the neighbor and the villager. They cook, make dishes, serve the meal, drink and cake or cookies. The kitchen then change to be outdoor and some kind of centre of the house at the moment. A plenty women or old women will take part for cooking. They will come with the rice from their own house to be collected and cooked in the mourning house. They start from the early morning for the first breakfast of the day.
Women are reparing the breakfast.
In occasion like this, rice is cooked in a big bunker and so did the water. That is why cooking the rice and supplying the hot water are always men duty.
Preparing three times meal a day it is not the duty of the host at all. The neighbor and villagers around will definitely take place. They will come alternately during the seven days.
Now preparing the lunch for everyone, especially for the mourn family and the guests.
Losing someone we love is always a deep sorrow, but here, we are never alone to carry that feeling. Warm people around are there to help us to get through and give everything they have. This is our tradition. This is our culture.

I thought, you want to see a city on the coast of Malacca Strait which is situated on the island of Sumatra. Well, here's Lhokseumawe city, a bride of Malacca Strait in Aceh. The city has a long history in the maritime world in the past. Port for export and import has just disappeared in the last decade of the 80s, and its aftermath people rarely know that in this city there once international trading port in the past.
And this is how looks of this city right now viewed from hills that had been a protection for vessels and provider of cool air for the sailors.

Okay steemian's, after two days I did not leave any posts, today I come back with my new engraving.
This time I carved a floral motif patterned curved and tendrils which is a typical motif carved in Aceh.
My older post about carvings
-Simple flower carvings, stylized jasmine flowers
-The beauty Acehnese Minbar (pulpit mosque)
-Tulak Angen, legacy of the tradition of art
-From stone carving into wood carving
-My wood carving - calligraphy ornament on the minbar (Mosque pulpit)
Hi Steemian, Aceh is one area that has so much cultural richness, with a variety of historical relics, old gravestones, manuscripts, coins, priceless.
Meuseuraya activities carried @mapesa every weekend is to save historic sites scattered throughout the province, especially in Aceh Besar.
@mapesa not only save the historical sites, but also examine the findings by placing the source of the history of various ancient manuscripts collected by my brother Masykur/ @pedir-museum, as well as from various other sources.
Good luck to @mapesa, as it includes an expert historian, and expert ephigrapy @keuudeip also an archaeologist Deddy Satria who always leads us in this regard.
May God grant them health and longevity.
This is some of my drawings, along @mapesa 2014, in the history of Meurah Ji'ee sites, this site before it breaks, with no attention from the local government.
The results of this study will be published in the community, so they know about their history. Moreover, the purpose of this study was to introduce the younger generation, which is currently much wrong in understanding the history, without clear evidence.
Relax while enjoying some food, listen @keuudeip history. and we were so missed the this situation.
And this is the last shot, I am, @keuudeip and @k-syusteem documentary @cisah (Central Information for Samudra Pasai Heritage).
Aceh and Malay are two ethnic and cultural coexistence, mutual influence and enrich both cultures of each other. Many scholars argue that Aceh and Malay is derived from the same family, but the fact it does not seem entirely true. But however, the two have been living together since ancient times.
An old and historic mosque in the village Gunong Kleing, Meureubo region, on the west coast of Aceh, gives the impressions of the two influences of architectural styles, which can be called by the the Malayo-Aceh.
Most of the building of this mosque was made from of wood as commonly important buildings in areas with rich of wood forests. The building shape is rectangular, and on the roof there are four domes and a minaret. Of the four domes, three dome on the front of the mosque, and the main dome in the middle. The tower was built up in northeast mosque.
In contrast to the domes of mosque are common curved, dome of the Aceh traditional mosques foursquare. But in Aceh traditional architecture is only found one dome, and sometimes it was multilevel up to three levels. The mosque, with the dome more than one can be said is due to the influence that comes from the Middle East.
Meanwhile, the style of carving art at this mosque more displaying a carving art of the Malay style that is much simpler.

The scientific name of this plant in full is Coccinia grandis. This plant I found when I pass on the edge of a river in my city, Banda Aceh. The Plant, with fruits, vines on the acacia tree. The fruit resembles a cucumber but smaller and when ripe the color changed to orange. The fruits of this plant are edible, the taste was pretty good, and it became the most preferred food for bulbuls.
I saw a boat moored at the dock. At that time I was on vacation in Sabang, around 2012. This is my old photos.
I wanted to rent this boat. I wanted to surround this island alone. But I did not find the owner of this boat. I am very disappointed. Finally, I hired another boat, but used together.
These photos are my old collection, when we were vacationing in Sabang, Aceh, in 2012.
At that time, we were heading to a tourist spot (I forget the name of the place). The road we traveled sometimes climbing, sometimes decreased. Left and right are trees.
Along the way, we saw monkeys. They were standing on the roadside. They seemed to wait for something. Perhaps, they were waiting for the bananas thrown by the road users. Unfortunately, at that time we did not bring bananas.
