Long time ago Steem gets escrow support, but until today wasn't GUI for this impressive feature.
Last week I made GUI for escrow transactions on Golos blockchain. And today I make it work for Steem blockchain!
From Russia with love! =) Thanx @testz and @arcange for the help with localization.
This video show the process of sending escrow transaction:
Everyone has preference. Some people like hot coffee, some like ice coffee, and some like both. But if one likes both hot and ice coffee, will lukewarm coffee satisfy him/her? It won't because it does not mean both but it just means neither hot nor cold.
Interestingly, we are able to find hot and cold sides in recent debates on curation rewards. For-content people view the current problem of Steemit is too many bots that generates voting noise and impede proper contents filtering mechanisms. They are more likely to contend removing curation rewards in order to drive away voting bots. Meanwhile, for-profit people argue that removing curation rewards will cut financial incentives and hence discourage holding Steem Power, resulting in a considerable price decrease. You may think one of sides is correct, but I would like to say both arguments are true and they have no problem at a
Since I started using Steemit over 7 months ago, I've been gamifying my experience through sites like SteemWhales.com. I love this site because I love the competition of checking rankings. I've yet to power down. Not even once. I wish I had, because I would have sold at much higher prices only to buy so much more back at these lower prices. Hindsight is always 20/20.
One of my goals as I blogged away was to rise up on the Steem Power list. Prior to SteemWhales, I used to check the richlist on steemd almost daily. I always got excited when a post bumped me up a position or two. I often converted my SBD to STEEM and then powered up. I believe in the long term success of this incredible blockchain because it's super efficien

I need the help of you steemers especially the ones that I have been here for a while to guide me. This is Derrick and I've known him for about 15 years. He is now in the UFC and doing a great job representing Houston. He has always supported my projects and businesses. This morning I suggested he uses STEEMIT as another social media platform but then I w
Following on from my previous post Querying Steem blockchain data - Getting started, this post will take another look at SteemSQL, but now we play with data!
As my previous post covered installing and getting connected with a MSSQL client, this post assumes you have already done that.
If you are reading this post, chances are that you have an account or at the very least an interest in Steem and or Steemit.com, so why not start with accounts?
As a firm believer in iterative learning I am going to start small, then we can build on that knowledge as we go, so for this post we will cover a small portion of account data, along with a very simple use case, but one that you will be able to follow along with.
Would you believe it, account data is in the Accounts table! You can see it selected above in the Schema
This is witness log that will give community brief update about my latest project works.
Summary: eSteem major update, Translation of eSteem and reward contributors, new platform, Witness updates, Other project updates
Since my last update, we have released 2 new versions of eSteem with major changes. Multi-currency, Multi-account, Multi-chain, Multi-languages, notifications for multi-accounts on same devices, all these features found themselves users. Feedbacks have been very positive and we have had few bugs that was addressed on time. Desktop app development should catch up with latest mobile developments and have new feature in new/better design, so will be working on this in parallel.
eSteem Translation moved to new platform which is helping us a lot to focus on development rather than management of tools. Now almost everything is automated. Th
I am running the numbers and this is quite normal. They are ALL down - this is what always happens when bitcoin spikes. Everything is prices in bitcoin so all crypto-coins go negative.
I sold a whole bitcoin yesterday and as usual, the price spikes an hour after I send the coin. All good after waiting for the first confirmation - forty minutes in a cafeteria with one of my regular customers. Last time it was a first time buyer. I was holding $35,000 of his pesos, and he was waiting for his two bitcoins to arrive. Read on to find a possible fix.
So you can blame me for selling bitcoins, spiking the price, and now your Steem digits after the dot go further to the right. It really does not make that big of a difference in
We have a lot of people here with a lot of different talents. We know the world is pushing for blockchain big time.
We need to push the STEEM BLOCKCHAIN (not just steemit) big time in some video advertisements.
They should be something simple...
Did you know you could use the steem blockchain? It powers steemit.com, and busy.org, but it is completely extensible. It is fast, it is tested, it is distributed and uncensorable, and it is open. Why reinvent the wheel? You can have a free wheel that is already soundly designed and tested. You simply need to decide what you want to use that wheel on.
Steemit.com and Busy.org are simply two examples of websites built to access the steem blockchain.
The steem blockchain is like an uncensorable cable television network where people can start their own channels. Steemit.com, and Busy.org
In my previous post, I suggested to convert curation reward into investor reward, which is given when Steem Power is locked and unused. There have been backlashes on this and as far as I understand the main concern is
discouraging vote while encouraging doing nothing. This post addresses the concerns and reports revised proposal with detailed numbers.
It seems fair statement that giving rewards for laziness makes no sense. However, are they really doing nothing? No. To have Steem Power, they bought or earned STEEM, powered up, and have been holding Steem Power. If you say holding is doing nothing, you may prefer selling and are enjoying recent STEEM drop. Although holding doesn't actively add value on Steem, it is a large supporting factor for STEEM price and at least doesn't decrease Steem value.

USD values are calculated per day via API feeds from Poloniex (for STEEM and SBD values in BTC) and Coindesk (for USD value of BTC). For the hourly breakdown graphs, I show the USD values using the weighted average for that day. For the top 50 reports in USD terms, I then took the average USD value for STEEM and SBD for the week using the daily average which came out to:
Please see the first report for a detailed explanation of my personal assumptions related to what this data could mean (along with commentary on previous reports). What it does not show is people powering up, powering down, or if they are buying or selling on an exchange. It's just some interesting dat
February 22nd 2017, 12:15 — Steem at only 8800 satoshies. What can we do?
The only way to make Steem great again, is to drag these ladies over here! Such talents must not stay illegaly parked on YouTube only!
Do something on Instagram & Twitter…
…or start panicking right away!

I have done this too often, and every time it has gone the wrong way. But I am doing it again. I just put another whole damn bitcoin into steem.
I am a big believer in steem. I have seen it work and I have seen the many great people that steem has attracted and the wonderful content we can find here on a daily basis.
Effectively all of the money I have put into this system so far has evaporated. There are reasons for this. Steem has solved some problems before they were problems and is not focusing enough on its core business model, which is to create valuable content and attract value so that content providers get rewarded according to the value they provide. The roadmap is full of technical details but the core busi

I know people have different ideas on the value and ethics of bots. It seems to me that they’re an attempt to address one problem of Steemit’s attention economy - none of us can read everything in time to make our votes count - but that they lead to other problems in their turn.
The Metaphone? Is my small attempt to offer my own work,
I do a sloppy version of dollar cost averaging and this purchase brings my average down significantly. The price might keep dropping but I know that I don't know where the bottom is. Don't go all in at any one time. Don't try to catch falling knives. If it goes lower I will be buying more.
I'm very bullish on STEEM long term and I believe it is currently undervalued.
And just so
The suggestion, to remove curation rewards is completely absurd.
I have now seen a few people actually suggesting that.
The latest post I saw was this one by @clayop.
Even @steemitblog plans it here.
We propose to role out the new curve for the comments only because comments do not have curation rewards in the next release.
Can anybody explain to me, why I would want to hold Steem Power then ?
I can use it to reward posts. What's in it for me ?
To get a return on my investment, I'd have to vote for myself.
Or I find some buddies to vote for, who then vote me in return.*
*As if that wasn't already happening enough
I could use my Steem Power to vote for 30 witnesses, but at this point I can't even find 30 witnesses to vote for, who didn't disqualify the
@baabeetaa and I hit this trying to make our blockchain interoperate with steemit. What this seems to show is that steems implementation of secp256k1 does not work like other implementations. We will not speculate on what this means for security here.
We had been talking API problems with steem. I was wrong. I never considered what @baabeeta found today, which is that the problems are with encryption. It took him a great deal of work to confirm this.
I would have reported this privately as is the norm but have been deleted from steemit slack.
