Was 3-day travelling to witness Ayers Rock, also known by its Aboriginal name Uluru worth it?
I shot this 5 years ago with a Nikon D5000 and I am sure you will agree with me YES, it represents one of the most spectacular moments of over 80 countries I have travelled to.
Ayers Rock also known by its Aboriginal name of Uluru - UNESCO World Heritage Site one of the world’s most mysterious religious sites, eclipsing even Stonehenge and far more ancient. It is easily the most iconic natural landform in Australia. A sacred place of the region’s indigenous Aboriginal tribe.
The creation of Uluru began over 500 million years ago. Uluru rises steeply on all sides to a height of 1.6kms, while the summit is generally flat, the rock is about 3.6kms long and 1.9kms wide, with a circumference of 9.4kms. The climb to the top is 1.6kms, much of which is at a steep angle.
Why is the rock red?
Hi there, yesterday I have been to a design market in
Bad Mergentheim and had to drive through innumerable small franconian villages and landscapes to get there. I almost had to take a picture of every third house, for it beeing special and pitoresque. Fortunately, seen the new challenge, I also made some pictures of the landscapes. Here is my favourite view:
(what a dramatic sky)
(same position without panorama)
( This one is almost illegal. It´s a military satelite communication base and it is forbidden to take pics from any closer)
This shot was taken not far from Kinvara Ireland while on our way to The Cliffs of Moher!
I love the textures of the various components. The hardness of the stones against the softness of the clouds gives contrast. The higher stones on the right draw the eyes there but they are pulled back to the left by the spots of yellow/green lichen!
I Hope That You Enjoyed This Shot!
Until next time,
@kus-knee (The Old Dog)
Remember, I reward the best comment(s) on each of my posts with my

This photograph was taken yesterday specifically for the challenge.
Sad to see how empty the dams below are. Usually at this time of year they are close to 50% capacity
Thanks for reading, and hopefully for your vote!!
The plain of Oberstdorf in the morning sun.
Mountain view with the Allgäu and the Lechtaler Alpen (the Hoher Ifen can again be seen at the right end of the panorama).
From Koh Samui where we were staying, there are cruisers going there on daily bases. I am suggesting you to go there as it worth every single penny/cent you will spend. To get to the highest point to take this photo you have to climb a bit the rocks on the top of a hill... if you can wear shoes is better than flip flop as some point is a bit slippery.

I have a Bosai tree that I left for my mother - in - law to live.
My mother-in-law has been with my family for 13 years and pampered this tree.
Thanks to it, this little tree has been keeping up to date.
I think I was too nervous.
So I decided to do a haircut on the weekend.
Here's my third entry into SteemitPhotoChallenge.
It's an old valley of the river Ahja which is made into a lake for a hydroelectric power plant. The sides of the valley are very steep and up to 38 meters in height relative to the surface of the lake. In a lot of places the sandstone is visible and it's a vertical drop down. The place is known as Taevaskoja.
Here's my entry:

*I have to admit that the quality isn't quite there. I rushed and took the shot by hand. I should have set up a tripod, focused properly, lowered the ISO and create separate exposures. I guess next time, since this spot isn't going anywhere :)
enjoy below my entries for current Steemit Photo Challenge #41 - Landscapes II.
I took this shot 10 years ago during a trekking tour in autumn in South Tyrol. The Seiser Alm is the largest high altitude Alpine meadow in Europe. In the center of the background you see the Lankgofel and Plattkofel Group. On the left side behind the Langkofel you see the Sella Group
I took this shot in year 2010 during a holiday on the island of Majorca. Sa Calobra is located at the northwest coast in region Serra de Tramuntana.
I took this shot 3 years ago a 5 minute walk away from our
Not much to be said about this one - completely natural

The dredger is washing sand onto the bank of the Sukhona River near the city of Veliky Ustyug. Vologda region. Russia.
Made on Canon 5d + Tokina 19-35 mm. Panorama of 3 vertical frames on 19 mm.
One of the best place I have never been.
The water has a green colour but don't expect it clear transparent because it isn't. I am coming from Italy and we have the water transparent and you can see where are you standing at. In Thailand it is different... but always nice.

I remember the movie title,
Let's see the sky sometimes.
Days walking while looking at the ground for being busy
But the building I work for is for me
It allows me to see the sky like this without having to lift head.
This is also a pleasure ^^
Joy is not far away.

The family and I drove up to the Giant Forest in the Sequoia National Park May 21, 2017.
We pulled over at a lookout point on Generals Highway to capture a few memories and I shot this photograph.
I shot this photograph with my iPhone 6 at 5:49 in the afternoon.
