Well it seems the league is off to a good start leading in television ratings, and the sports wagering industry all ready picked up the league as well. The games are getting good reviews from fans so here are my thoughts on if it will make it one year on not?
MY ODDS:
WILL THE AAFL MAKE IT FOR ONE YEAR OR NOT?

HERE ARE SOME THINGS I THINK WILL HURT OR HELP THE AAFL:
FANS IN THE STANDS AND A STRONG FAN BASE:
I covered both semi professional and professional sports for years.
Covering many football games.
Getting fans in the stands and a steady fan base is one thing this league will need to do.
One thing I noticed however covering leagues in Florida, and has been the demise of other football leagues is not maintaining a fan base or getting fans to the games.
Fans not only buy tickets but are the bases of getting TV Commercials, Sponsors, Retail Merchandise, and Food and Beverage Companies
The biggest revenue income for the NFL is TV commercials during games.
The league attracts millions of fans and commercials for the Championship game can run into the millions of dollars.
NO GIMMICKS:
The XFL demise was due to many reason but gimmicks was one of the biggest turn off for the fans.
KEEP THE NFL UNION OUT OF IT:
The down fall of the Arena Football League was signing players with Arena Football League into the NFL players Union. This created a financial down fall of the Arena Football League.
KEEP IT ON TELEVISION:
If any contracts are lost or a decision is made to pull of TV the league will be over before even gets going. One of the contracts is already with NFL NETWORK and many people do not get this channel.
DO NOT DO WHAT HAS HURT THE NFL:
Many NFL fan base was turned off by drama in the NFL. This last NFL Championship was the lowest rated NFL Championship ever. There could be many reasons for this but the fact that this league can not afford any losses in the FAN BASE.

In 2020 the XFL will be opening it is my belief that only one of these leagues will survive. I base my belief on the fact of the FANS. With another league opening there is more room for fans to jump ship. I strongly believe one of these leagues will fail in 2020!" |
