titleANGLICAN
body"1. That the Eucharist service or any other divine service begins at the processional hymn. No crossing the aisle and no side talking or chatting from then on till "Go in peace to love and serve the Lord".
2. That any officiating Minister be it Clergy or Lay (Choir, Lay reader, Steward, Server, Warden etc) who was not part of the procession SHOULD not officiate in the service in any form even if so rostered without obtaining the approval of the Celebrant to do so. Another person may have been so assigned before procession. No room for lateness.
3. That anyone who misses the preparation to penitence (general confession and Ablution of sin and Collect) which is the heart of the Ante-Communion, such should not go to the table at distribution.
4. That the Epistle is announced ONCE and not repeatedly as we see today.
5. That it is not pronounced as in _HE_PI_STUL__ . It is _HI_- PI_ - ZU_ with a silent z. Our Youths and guests at occasional services may not take us serious when we make these mistakes.
6. That every one stands still and faces the direction of the Gospeller during the Eucharist. Nobody whether inside or outside the Sanctuary sits or moves while the Gospel is being read except those with unhealthy legs. No reading along from the Bible or Screen. Just listen. It is a declaration.
7. That a Communicant is expected to make genuine peace with anyone he's not at peace with and every other persons before going to the table. That is the essence of the Celebrant's saying "Christ is our peace.........Let us offer one another a sign of peace". Make true peace.
8. A Communicant must be a communicating member in dues payment, offertory, and attendance at services.
9. An Anglican must not miss the Eucharist especially on Christmas day, Easter and Pentecost. Other very important days are Ash Wednesday, Advent and The Holy Week or Passion Week.
10. A true Anglican does not sit at home during Bible Classes and prayer meetings except for reasons of ailments.
11. That once the entrances are blocked by the Stewards, no one should creep in underneath . You will certainly distract the worship.
12. That Guild of Stewards are officials of the service and are empowered to hinder or allow movements as appropriate. Respect them and sit where you are led even if it is your house help doing so. It shows you are humble.
13. That once in robes or vestments, you are not to be found elsewhere other than the stalls as the case may be. This is why Convenience rooms are now provided around the Vestry area. If you must move, kindly put off part of the full robes.
14. That as a Parish Church Council member, the highest decision making body of the parish, in line with the vows made at swearing in with a Bible in hand before God and the congregation, all parish worship services and prayer meetings must be attended whether night or day once such persons are not sick or out of reach of the parish at the time. Many are breaking this vow carelessly without recourse to the consequences which they have put themselves under. Those declarations are not mere words.
*Which of these are you found doing?*
Good Morning fellow steemians.."
