Amazon Web Services ( AWS ), the US-based division dedicated to cloud services for businesses and consumers , has announced the launch of its AWS Blockchain Templates service . This should allow its customers to create a blockchain " in just a few minutes ".

Amazon is officially embarking on blockchain technology. The US giant, through its platform Amazon Web Services , announced this week the launch of AWS Blockchain Templates . These are matrices that will allow customers to deploy their own version of the Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric networks .
Here's what the company said on its website:
"AWS Blockchain Templates provides a fast and easy way to create and deploy secure blockchain networks, leveraging popular open-source frameworks, which will allow you to focus on developing your blockchain applications, rather than losing time and energy on manual setting of your network. "
Note that these templates are free, and that users will pay " only for the resources needed to run their network (s) blockchain ".

Jeff BarrJeff Barr , AWS 'Chief Evangelist , spoke of the many use cases arising from this new service:

The arrival of AWS Blockchain Templates comes after the approval of an Amazon patent application for a "data streaming marketplace" . This does not seem to have generated much enthusiasm among many ecosystem players, as it could be used by governments and law enforcement to link IP addresses to specific Bitcoin transactions .
It remains to be seen whether this marketplace will ever be deployed, and how exactly this patent will be used. But one thing is certain: unlike other giants of the Web, Amazon seems well and truly determined to take the blockchain train on the move .
