Social media has become powerful all over the world. It has become a major platform for organizing protest movements in many countries around the world. This is an interesting lesson for the present time. We live in a time where knowledge of centralized and decentralized social media is essential. Thank you @yohan2on for bringing such a lesson. Before we move on, we need to know what centralized and decentralized applications are,
<center><h1>What is Centralized Application?</h1></center>
A centralized application is a service where users are driven by a specific organization. Centralized applications have separate nodes and the nodes are connected to a central server and all activity is controlled by Central server. Anyone wishing to access the Centralized application will be asked for their information. If you are using the Facebook application, you will see when you login or open an account. This means that you have complied with their guidelines. Of course in centralized service you have to follow certain guidelines. There are many centralized applications out there, like Facebook, Instagram, google, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn etc.
<center><h1>What is Decentralized Application?</h1></center>
Decentralized Application are also called as dApps. Decentralized applications are programs that run on a blockchain. An application that is multicenter, not based on a specific center is called a decentralized application. Decentralization means decentralization. Which has no single center. That means no one can control you here. Somehow you are free. You are the only person who can control your account. No other third party may interfere in any way here.
<h1><center>Compare and Contrast between Steemit Vs Facebook</center></h1>
We know steemit is based on blockchain, Which is running in the steem chain. And Facebook is a centralized application. However, Facebook and Steemit are in the same category. Both are social media. The only difference is that one is centralized and the other is decentralized. But we know there are many differences between centralized and decentralized. Which I have described above.

It’s great that we’re getting rewards for using steemit. We know we can share content on steemit. We can spread knowledge worldwide through our content sharing on steemit.
Well, Let us now discuss the benefits of steemit.
## Advantage of steemit :
1. First we get rewards from here by sharing our original content or talent. Which no other centralized service has this facility.
2. Since steemit runs on blockchain, everything is transparent. Everything is visible in blocks.
3. Since it is decentralized, no one can interfere with your account here. It is private. Which is protected by a private key.
4. One of its virtues is that no plagiarism is allowed here. Everything has to be done by yourself. Due to which we are able to learn every day.
5. Steemit wallet is protected by a strong password that no one but the account owner can access.
## Disadvantage of Steemit:
In my view steemit doesn’t have too much difficulty. But since everything has advantages and disadvantages, there are also some disadvantages. But if you are careful, it will not be a problem for you
1. Since it runs on blockchain, running a steemit account requires enough knowledge.
2. Since we get rewards from our hard work here, there is a possibility of losing funds in the account at any time if the attack is admitted by the scammer. So I say, don't click on any unnecessary links and save your password offline.
## Facebook :
Facebook is a popular social media. It was created in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, a student at Harvard, and some friends. Has surpassed billion of users worldwide.
## Advantage of Facebook:
1. It is very easy to communicate with friends through Facebook.
2. Through it, one can participate in social development work, help the poor and needy.
3. Blood donation programs are now conducted on Facebook. The result is saving many lives, it is very helpful at the present time. Many are benefiting from it
## Disadvantage of Facebook:
Despite the advantages and disadvantages of Facebook, it has many disadvantages and disadvantages. It has a wide impact on the social.
1. Rumors are spreading like an epidemic through Facebook recently. Very quickly a fake news spreads everywhere which is detrimental to social life.
2. This has a huge impact on our education. It is affecting many young children.
3. As a result of excessive use of Facebook, we often do not go to the chat of friends, as a result, friends gradually move away from us.
According to us, there are many more harmful aspects of Facebook. We need to be careful when using Facebook.
