body">The moment @dan and @ned launched Steem blockchain, was the moment that history was about to be made but nobody was aware of it back then.
Point taken, yet the @devcoin project predated them by rewarding content creators and open source programmers with Proof of Work *DevCoins*. The real *history breaker* of @ned and @dan was Delegated Proof of Stake in my opinion. It is already having widespread ramifications and is likely to have much more as time goes on.
My feeling is we will see the Blog aspect of STEEM taking more and more of a backseat in the STEEM project as the utility aspect of the STEEM *token* begins to overtake the *currency* aspect.
In DevCoin's case, the rewards to content creators drove its value to zero (0) from whch the project is still trying to recover. Due to the utility nature of STEEM for dApp operations, STEEM's recovery should be in direct correlation to the increase of dApps requiring the STEEM utility token.
When first coming to STEEM; having been involved in DevCoin from its early days; it was always my feeling that it would be just a matter of time to see things evolve to the point they are at present. It was pleasant surprise, however, seeing the rise of dApps on the blockchain slowly supplanting content creation."
