What a day to be out and the perfect time to test the forest trails!
It was an early morning walk with Piper today as we were both excited to get some fresh air and get back to this walking routine.
The trails started off being pretty good. Showing promising signs that it's all cleared up.
As soon as we hit the bridge I was able to let Piper off her leash and roam free. She ran like the wind back and forth, embracing the spring air and soil under her paws instead of snow. It has been a long time since we have been back to this place.
The lakes still carry ice and snow in the distance.
That should have been my first warning. Walking farther down the trail, we were greeted with a small lake in the path.
The only way to get to the other side was either through it, like Piper did, or wrestle your way through the thick bush off the side like I did.
After venturing that part successfully with a few splashes of a running dog beside me, I got Piper to run by throwing her ball around. She even got so excited that she couldn't wait for me to throw it and just jumped for it, right from the stick! Picture above.
We had a great time out there and rested a quick moment to drink water. Gave me a chance to take a nice shot of piper too. Not too often is she sitting for a pose.
When taking to the trails in the spring, there is one thing to bare in mind. Its a time where the bears have woken up and searching for food. It can be a dangerous time so it's good to keep an eye open for tracks. Thank goodness all there was are the tracks from my dog and birds.
So there are more things I wanted to say and more pictures to show but I got 8 minutes left to post before actifit gets reseted.
