Not just the 256 GB USB upgrade I'd been waiting for since my birthday last July...but also a new set of headphones too, because my ears are itching big time from what I've had to make do with till today.
![By Reginald Routhwick, 1/2/2020; CC0/Kopimi](https://d1vof77qrk4l5q.cloudfront.net/img/41e6504e56c944930b65fd926647f6836d6192f6.jpg)
As stated [last time](https://steemit.com/newyear/@routhwick/new-year-new-drop-new-demand-in-a-matter-of-days-new-datatransfer-drive-5mtalb7h),⊙ Amazon + a TD gift card was my last resort since Brandon's Walmart, where I chanced on the data-storage upgrade, didn't have it on their racks. Waiting till last Thursday (23/1) for the new card was one thing; activating it the afternoon after was another. After three bounces through the TD Help line (over the phone), my superior and I realised that all it took was registering it with new account credentials--no suspension of the old one required--and even *that* had to be done on my spare laptop because the expiration date wouldn't go through on mobile Chrome. (No wonder "Byzantine" became my Word of the Day.)
The sooner our problems were resolved, the sooner I hit you-know-where to order my lot--with free shipping for the following week. Arrived in the mail this Thursday (30/1); got and unwrapped the envelope the next day.
So now that I've got those--plus a 128 GB SB that's laid around since August, waiting for this occasion--all's finally settled on the priority queue, right?
Not quite, apparently. For starters, my temporary charger's begun to go on the fritz (since ca. Wednesday)--and that's where a commission opportunity could do wonders. As one "SkyPup" asked recently in [an Inkbunny journal entry](https://inkbunny.net/j/378610-SkyPup-artist-search): *"Any artists with a cute style?"* Any hour from press time, I'll reply to him--on the condition that it'll take me 3-4 months to deliver, because songfile commitments. (In case you weren't around for this feed's Plus era, I could make a good anthro artist--as my improved design of *Unspooled*'s Samson Dixwell, boy raccoon, proved in 2015.) Once we make a deal, a new charger's coming up pretty soon--along with a (rotoscoped) fursona portrait for my first client.
Furthermore, although the cleanup backlog that has manifested on the remnants of my 64 GB SD card since last February will move to a new home, I am not willing to lose them either--which calls for a backup plan, 32 new GB's worth. Guess I must make a return trip to Walmart soon, circumstances and outlook pending.
Speaking of Mr. Dixwell and company...well, I could've continued right here and converted that into our first Marigot Notebook of the 2020s. As per usual, what I've drafted so far looks way too ambitious to put into print here, so stay tuned as I do reopen by the overnight or early tomorrow morning.
For now, though, a few more plays with my old phones, a switchover to new storage, and a resubscription to what is now Last.fm Pro (one more phase of scrobble editing can't wait much longer either) await this Captain ASAP. Take care, enjoy your weekend, condolences to the family and friends of Kobe Bryant...and as always, God bless.
Not to mention it's February already.
⊙ Deepest apologies for the wonky formatting I failed to address in time before the one-week window; a whole new battle with the beats took up my mind and schedule before I realised time was already up. A cleaned-up revision is slated for the next 4-20 days; I'll learn from its source code. (In related news: What's up with SteemViz, the tool I need for this task?)
Onward and upward...
