I'm not sure how much you know about steem-engine, but they just setup a smart contract and side chain. What's cool is it's much more flexible than being on the main chain like SMTs will be. It enables all kinds of cool stuff. for instance we have 60/40 author/curation rewards and we already have our own decentralized video platform through their collaboration with dtube - https://video.weedcash.network/
Another big deal in my opinion is the market on steem-engine - https://steem-engine.com/?p=tokens From sales of WEED, WEEDM, and WEEDMM I've been able to get all this in place in no time and we're just getting started!
