As you may already know, I've been recovering data from some of my previously inaccessible hard drives.  Some of the data includes videos that I made for DTube but have since become unplayable due to IPFS issues.

I've spent some time today watching some of these videos and having an epic nostalgic time.  It's amazing how much has changed on the platform since I made these videos.  I'm so glad I make videos, they are like a window into the past.

Instead of uploading a video to DTube today, I decided to share five of these videos with you.  Yes, five videos. :) . You don't have to watch them all in one sitting, so feel free to come back and watch them whenever you want.  Since they are embedded from YouTube, there's no fear of them vanishing any time soon.

I will include a short blurb explaining why I've picked each video for those interested.

## 1. Back To London

Ah, the good old days.  I made this video in my very early days on Steem / DTube.  Back then, I wasn't earning any Steem at all!  I would make video after video, but would get about 2-3 upvotes from fellow planktons with near zero vote value.  I didn't care though, It was all about the ***community*** then.

DDaily was *"DTubeDaily"* back then.  The community was born after a number of Steemians decided to upload a DTube video each day for a year!  That was day 21 so I had been on the platform for nearly 1 month.  I really miss the group video conference calls we had every week.  We were on there for hours at a time.

These were happy times around here.  Steem was at an all time high price of around $8 (SBD was even higher).  I couldn't capitalise on the price, of course, because I had no Steem haha.  I could only watch the greats earn billions of dollars every post.  I'm looking at you @kevinli

## 2.  Full Time Living On Steem?

I was laughing so loud when I re-watched this video after so long.  At some point in the video I was calculating how much it would require to earn a ***full-time*** living off Steem.

It was during a really cool time during my Steem journey when I wasn't earning any Steem, but I had just started writing for a Photography magazine.

**The general feeling was that the price of $5 was "too low" at that time.**  

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

We would kill for that price again wouldn't we?  :)

Ah, not to worry, we will be back there, and blast past it, sooner or later.

## 3. Kraków

It was my first time ever in the city of Kraków and I woke up bright and early to explore it before SteemFest began later that day.  I arrived too late the previous night to explore properly.

I did go on a brief walk to find food, but I was totally lost in a city where I knew no-one and didn't speak the language.  I was stunned by the melancholy of the city, which was made even more noticeable by the misty weather on the day.  

**Another reason why I picked this video is the fact that I shot it entirely on my iPhone!**

That's right.  It was one of the two most loved videos, by the community, that I've ever made, and it was on a phone, not a dedicated camera.  This just goes to show that *story telling* is more important than the quality of the camera when it comes to video making.

In fact, I only took my iPhone to SteemFest 3, which means all photos and videos were created entirely on my iPhone.

## 4. The Good Times

Perhaps the worst day I've experienced since joining the Steem blockchain was the day Ned of Steemit Inc. announced they were laying off 70% of their staff.  This was because the Steem price had fallen drastically and they were finding it difficult to keep up the very expensive operation they had been running.

The community was understandably outraged, frustrated and deflated.  

Some, however, stepped up big time to assist any way they could.  Shoutout to @blocktrades, @nathanmars, @aggroed and so many others for the part they played during this terrible time.

I made this video to remind us about the *"good times"* and what really mattered, and how strong our community was - at least compared to other communities.

I, like many other investors, was already sitting on a massive loss of nearly 80% of my Steem investments.  The funny thing is, I would be extremely happy to see Steem at the price it was on that day.

*Funny enough, this video immediately triggered a copyright flag on YouTube because of the Karaoke Songs.  How crazy is that?  That's one of the fundamental things wrong with YouTube*

## 5. 3 Places To Visit In Banff National Park

Ahhh.  This is by far my favourite post I've ever made on Steem.  It consisted of a video and a long, long blog post.  It was the second part of my Canada series of posts.

At this point, posting wasn't about the rewards anymore.  It was about sharing, and the fun of creating videos.  I had an amazing experience in Banff, Canada, and I was delighted to share it.

Along with the Krakow video above, it was my most loved video by the community.  I'm glad to be able to bring it back for those that haven't seen it.
