I INTRODUCED STEEMIT IN MY FIRST INTERVIEW - ULOG

Did I just say first? Yes! I had my first real interview today. By **real**, I mean sitting down one on one with two or more interviewers.

I've had series of interviews in the past, but, I don't call them interviews. I couldn't find a name for them either. All the interviews involved talking to the employer on phone (phone interview, perhaps), an online interview where I had to answer some questionnaires, and situations where I had to showcase my talent by designing something or dropping some lines of codes before getting the job.

I've never worked full-time.

I've always wanted to work in a particular firm, after writing their aptitude test last week, I was finally called for an interview yesterday. Initially, it was scheduled till next week Tuesday I thought I had lots of time to prepare.

The joy of getting the interview hadn't subdued when I was called back to inquire if I could make it today. After responding yes, just then, I realised what I've done. The time was short and I'm not familiar with interview questions. I needed to prepare, then, I kicked off.

Trust me, I couldn't read anything. The interview questions I saw online were much and I couldn't pin all together in a short time. I guess it's my fault, I had lots of time to prepare for it after the aptitude test.

I slept off and I was hopeful.

Fast forward to the interview session.

Two lovely people sat down before me and they were smiling.

I smiled back, looking bold. They'd thought I was firm but I wasn't. Back in my mind, I was thinking of what they could ask me.

The first question was simple and straight forward. At a point, I was thinking if the interview has started.

They saw me filling my secondary school result in a form. And they asked how it was. The second question was;

>In your CV, you said you are programmer. What languages do you code and what are you working on?

Then, the steemit story began.

I'm working on a project and it involves steemit and a community I belong in. There was no way I could describe the project without mentioning Steemit. Just then, they were eager to know what Steemit is all about.

After my explanations, they were surprised. A platform where you can earn from posting contents really awed them. If I was told I would be describing steemit in an interview, I would have argued.

Other questions were analytical. The questions were asked based on situations, they wanted to know what I would do when I find myself in such situations.

The interview lasted for more than 40 minutes and I hope I did well.

Perhaps my next #ulog post will be good news.
