If you are spending about half an hour of your time every day in a social networking platform such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram there are better platforms for you.

If you are a blogger, a writer, a photographer then the platforms that I am going to mention on this article will greatly benefit you.

### Why Better
Better because you can earn on your posts in a decentralized manner. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are social networking platforms that do not compensate their users.

### How it Become Possible
Because of blockchain the idea of users earning on their own posts without being controlled by a centralized entity was made possible.

### The Platforms
* [Steemit](https://steemit.com/) let's you earn if another user upvotes your posts. Upvote is the equivalent of "like" on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

In Steemit you can post anything from photos to videos. You can even embed your YouTube videos on your posts.

Steemit is built on top of the Steem blockchain, one of the fastest blockchain ever made. Its creator is Dan Larimer which also happens to be the creator of EOS blockchain.

* [Busy](https://busy.org/) is another front-end website for the Steem blockchain. It is also a social networking platform that can be used as an alternate to Steemit. Busy also let's you earn if another user upvotes your posts.

If you are not comfortable in using Steemit you can use Busy. Any posts that you publish using Steemit can be viewed on Busy and vice-versa.

* [ONO]( https://www.ono.chat/en/) If you love taking photos and writing short stories or long articles you can use this platform. As of now ONO is mainly available on mobile devices. You can download the app on Android and iOS.

### Upcoming platform
* [APPICS](https://appics.com/) is one of the most promising social networking platform that will be launch on the first quarter of 2019.

### Time has Changed
Gone are the days that users can only give so much and do not get something in return. With the advent of blockchain and the platforms that uses them users can now earn with their posts.

It will be only a matter of time that the users of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram will start to jump ship with these so called next generation platforms.

Few years ago if you want to invest you can do it mostly by using money. With the advent of the next generation social networking platforms that utilizes blockchain you can now start to invest only by posting with no much money involve.
