Vaname Shrimp Farming is Profitable

The cultivation of vaname shrimp is beneficial for its movers, especially in the West Aceh district. This effort has proven to be successful and even growing, like the pond owned by Amiruddin.

the business he runs by the end of 2017, has managed to reap huge profits from the first cycle of the harvest. Regarding the location, the pond is located in Suak Pandan Village, Samatiga District, West Aceh.

In the second cycle, vaname shrimp were sown by two million shrimp seeds and increased from the first cycle of only one million seeds of vaname shrimp that were sown. So that such an effort is believed to have the opportunity to improve the new economy, especially for coastal pond farmers.

Sowing of shrimp seeds in the second cycle increased sharply compared to the initial run of this type of seafood business. The addition of seeds is related to the addition of 18 new ponds from the previous only has 9 ponds.

Moreover, West Aceh has the potential to develop the cultivation of vaname shrimp species. From the first cycle alone, Amiruddin able to reap a profit of Rp700 million once the harvest parcels. That number certainly makes us interested and want to open this business. In fact, he targets on harvesting parcels in this second cycle to reach 3 billion.

Opening this business would require a lot of capital, but if there is a will there is a way or we can start with the smallest thing first, for example open a small pond for those who have vacant land.

If we are able to open a business like this, then the area will be helped by reducing the unemployment rate by absorbing a new workforce such as those engaged in the farm in Suak Pandan Village.
